So sweet - and isn't it true - our dogs rescue us, not the other way around. My daughter-in-law, who I love with all my heart was in an accident and is in the ICU. Every day I go to visit her and my dog comes with me (she sleeps on her bed in the back seat). I usually come out very distraught until Lucy showers me with kisses and always makes any situation a little better. Thanks for sharing such a sweet story!
Kristine, I am sorry to hear about your daughter in law and am glad you have Lucy there to help you thru it...I don't know what I would do without my 3 kitties in my life....take care!
Hi Kristin, Thanks for the cry! Rocky brings us such happiness and joy every day and so does our rescue cat. I have to re-blog this. Thanks for sharing.
CHristine, I am thankful to have soooo many animal loving friends like you....thanks for the reblog...your babies are so adorable! They are lucky to have you!
Hi Kristin, this is so beautiful, a story told from a different perspective. We had two rescue dogs over the years and they truly do rescue you right back!
HI Kristin - here I am at an open house with tears in my eyes - composure Sharon! Anyway, what a great story. There is a humane society very close to where I live and we have been recently donating things from their wish list. Oh the animals are so cute!!! I would love to rescue them all!
Sharon, I know what you mean...I am sure the shelter appreciates you helping with their wish list...thanks for all you are doing to help the furbabies of the world!
Very moving post, Kristin, and very true. My Mom was 94 when she lost her pet Sheltie. She insisted on another dog, which no one thought was the best idea, but we found her a 5 pound Papillon. My Mom passed away this year at 96. I'm sure that Fifi brought a lot of joy to her in those last two years. One of Mom's last smiles was when she held Fifi for the last time.
Fifi now lives with me, my partner and our 15 year old Poodle, Awgy.
Thanks Kristin. It is certainly what Mom would have wanted. I could not have given Fifi away to anyone and, as a bonus, she has turned out to be quite a character and very entertaining!
I am sure she is! I don't know what I would do if something happened to my furbabies...I have 3 rescued cats! Take care and thanks for sharing your story!

That's a great post; I wish I could house all the stray cats and dogs. I LOVE animals. I have two cats right now and they are such great company.

They do indeed save us. Meet Emma, she'll be 5 months on the 25th.
Rescued her from a shelter in Mississippi and had her brought up north. She's awesome.
Ross, thanks so much for saving a life! Emma is adorable and i am sure will be forever greatful!
