I love surfing in the rain! I love hanging out with my subscribers and supporting their blogs but most of all, I love finding newbies who are writing some really good posts.
These are actually some of my fave bloggers right now. There are so many newbies here who are working really hard to build some great blogs and I love coming across their good posts and supporting their efforts. This week was no different.
First and foremost, I want to give a big shout out to Cynthia Larson for her post The Chicken and the Egg of Real Estate that was awarded with that highly coveted gold star feature and I was happy to "call the shot" on her. I really liked this post because not only does Cynthia educate prospective buyers about getting pre-approved before looking for properties but this post developed such a really interesting comment thread that it actually inspired me to write my own post as kind of a follow-up (sort of). Stay tuned for that a little later.
There are a couple of other bloggers and their posts that the AR Gods must have missed this week when they were bestowing those little gold stars.
First there was Tom Bashe with Do you find yourself making your 10+ comments a day solely on featured listings?, where Tom questions the practices he witnessed by some bloggers at the most recent rain camp. Tom illustrates the exact type of practice that is so rampant here and exactly why I rarely ever read the feature board anymore.
It's because of this exact practice that I started doing my own posts highlighting bloggers who don't make it to the feature board and not because they aren't good writers either. Tom is new blogger that I just recently started following and he's doing really well in building a good blog. Check him out.
Next was Ken Barker with When Is The Right Time To Kick It Up A Notch To Join The SEO Bandwagon?? with a really good question about where to go with all his new found education and opportunities. I liked this post because Ken asks the question that so many newbies wonder about. This is when it's really important for all those Ambassadors out there to step up to the plate and help out these newbies with their valid concerns and questions. Ken is also a relatively new blogger who is putting together a really great blog. Check him out.
Then there was Greg Nino with his latest rant, Frustrations With Active Rain... Am I the Only one???. I liked this post because like Greg, I too am really frustrated with AR's !#$% search engine. Quite frankly, IT SUCKS!!! AR needs to do something about this because it hasn't been working for a long time and it needs to be fixed.
Lastly, along the same lines as Greg's post, there was Two bugs to explain vanishing ActiveRain points by Russel Ray. Russel informs us of some AR bugs that will wreak havoc on your points. While these bugs wouldn't stop me from making necessary changes to my older posts, I can certainly see where these bugs would cause some problems in certain circumstances. Check it out and be informed of what to expect if you need to make some changes to any of your older posts.
As always, I love "calling the shots". I'm pretty picky and selective about whom I suggest. I intentionally highlight my fave bloggers and then I look for new bloggers or bloggers that aren't on the feature board every other day. Anyone can suggest all the popular bloggers but finding the hidden treasures and gems is so much better. I hope you check them out and enjoy them as much as I did.
