We went to Rocktemberfest in downtown New Port Richey a week ago, and I forgot my camera. I know you all thought it was micro-chipped to me but I didn't have one with me at all. I couldn't believe we didn't bring one. (We meaning my husband didn't bring it). It was blazing hot out so the crowd was thinner than usual at these things. However, along came a husband and wife who were carrying their pets around. Their pets were two skunks. Of course, you know I whipped out the Blackberry and took a couple of pictures.

The couple let us pet the skunks; they were soft and silky just like a kitty so now I now why my Uncle Ted (who's been gone for twenty years and was an old country boy) called them Wood Pussies. The skunks were de-skunked and really sweet. Moma in the background was holding a beautiful beige and white one who was too shy for a picture.

I always wondered what a skunk would feel like. I thought maybe their fur was rough. This reminds me of the old Warner Bros. cartoon Pepe La Pue! Glad you had your phone with you to get these great shots!

How cute - we grew up with a pet raccoon - I love wild animals like that!

Actually, there wasn't any smell, Debra. And I did pet them; they are socialized so they were pet-able.
