If you look closely this little spider looks like he is mimicking a skeleton face with fangs. I am always amazed  at the diverse amount of insects that hang around out gardens. I know lots of folks are squeamish about spiders and bees and wasps, but without them there would be no food and we would be overrun with bad insects like roaches etc.  And most of them are harmless to humans.

Hi Trey... if I encountered that spider on Halloween or any day I would definitely not be happy!  EEK!

Trey, As a young adult I had plastic surgery from a brown recluse bite and I have to be honest I have a big fear of spiders.  I am a cool Mom though as I let our daughter have a tarantula as a pet. It was when she was in college and when she brought it home at break I made her keep the aquarium covered (lol).

Lise...we had hundreds of stink bugs this summer also!

C'mon Steve..he's kinda cute don't you think?

 Wanda...first time for me too.

Paul...you are right , it is a blowup. He was tiny.

Marchel. Those browns are serious spiders!

Trey,

Good one. He looks related to our banana spiders. :)

Great photo, Trey!! We are enjoying lots of Monarch butterflies right now.  Haven't seen as many spiders lately...though I'm sure they are still with us!!

The problem for me is that I can't tell which ones are harmless and those that are not! YIKES! He does look like a skeleton!

Wow - my daughter is afraid of spiders but she likes skeletons. Still, the fear won out and I couldn't even get her to come look at it. I think I'll email it to her. Bwahahaha!
