How To Do Something Stupid... Or Give Them Your All By Giving The Finger...

By
Real Estate Agent with I.V.P.G. - Inland Valley Professional Group

Hi All,

I did something stupid.  I didn't know it was stupid at the time.  I actually thought it was quite bright, but now I see the light and realize the folly of my ways.  I managed to injure myself blogging.  How can you do that?  Apparently pretty easily.  All you need to do is spend the better part of four months CONSTANTLY typing on your computer, tapping on those keys faster than Ann Miller and bingo... you too can give yourself a repetative motion injury!

I have had to lay off the keyboard in an attempt to get some relief and to have the swelling go down on my right ring finger.  That is a really dumb finger to hurt, you don't realize how often you need to use the letters "L & O".  It is also my favored finger for "." and good old backspace (I use that one alot).  I am currently, trying to retrain myself in an attempt to give it a rest and relieve the pain.

I actually am quite amused.  This has managed to do something to me I am sure people out in the world would never believe was possible - shut me up but good.  Oh, I may be down (we will know more when the X-rays come back... seriously) but I am far from out.  Looks like I will need to pull out one of those gadgets that I bought long ago and fire it up.  I have Dragon Naturally Speaking, which is a voice recognition software - you talk... it types.  Perhaps that would be a good alternative.  I have to say that I would never have guessed that a finger would fell me.  I would also have expected that if ANYTHING on me was going to be injured due to over use it would be my vocal cords :-)

I've missed you all and hope things have been well since I have been away.  Take care, help lots of people have a super day and an AWESOME weekend!

Tisza-  I'm sorry to hear about your injury--  I hope that you can speed your way back to healthy blogging soon!  You're not the only one, by the way.  I, for the life of me, couldn't figure out why my right index finger was stiff, swollen, and sore.  It wouldn't go away (still hasn't!)  My ever-so-helpful husband made a casual comment one night "maybe you're blogging too much."  The light bulb went on!

Tisza -- I'm so very glad to see your face again!!  Take care of that finger.  Yes, Voice Recognition software should be just the ticket.  And you can give us play by play reports of how to set it up, how easy it is to use, blah, blah blah.  <s>

Seriously,  I would love to for you to test drive some Speech Recognition software for us.  I have thought about trying it out more than once since my brain and my fingers never seem to operate at the same spped. (Make that speed -- good example that, right there.)

Take care.  Love and hugs.

Tisza,

Missed ya lots!!!  I was wondering what happened to you.  I figured you were taking a break after all the writing you have been doing for the last few months.  Take care of that finger of yours, and hope the new software works for you.  Have a great weekend!!!

Hi All,

As long as I keep my typing down to about 1 hour stretches with frequent breaks, things seem to be OK.  I had the doctor look at it just to make sure that there was nothing truly evil going on and received a clean bill of health, I just need to stay off of it... hence my virtual silence.

Thank you Sandi, Tricia, Chuck, Cheryl, Jason, Mary, Michele, Nancy, LANRE, Harold, Tracey, Caleb, Gary and Kelly for your good wishes, support and for letting me know that I have been missed.  I don't think you all could ever truly appreciate how much I have missed my AR friends as well.

Take care, help lots of people and have a super day!

Tisza
