Yesterday was October 3rd - that is the day that East and West Germany were reunited in 1990. I had already moved back to the States two years earlier but find it fitting that my son, Sascha, is still in Germany visiting his father on this occasion.
And what better photo for this event than Sascha inside the Deutsche Bundestag (German Parliment) in Berlin!!!
Happy Birthday Germany!!!!! Twenty years of being reunited and leading the way in Europe!
Sascha took this photo of the Brandenburger Tor (Brandenburger Gate) last week and I thought it was fitting to be included as it is a gateway to what was East and West Berlin. During the separation the Gate was on the East side of Berlin.
