It Does Not Have to Be Spring or Summer to Sell Your Moore Home

for sale, sign, You know you want to upgrade to a larger home in a more desirable area, but you are afraid your home will not sell during the cooler months, traditionally the slow season in real estate. This could not be further from the truth.  Forget the common wisdom: It Does Not Have to Be Spring or Summer to Sell Your Moore Home. There are too many people out there not fulfilling their dream because they are afraid to put that "FOR SALE" sign on their front lawn.

Ronald Phipps, president-elect of the National Association of Realtors says many people have are waiting for the real estate market to stabilize. But now, "they're finally flipping the switch, selling their houses and taking back control of their lives."

In the past few weeks homeowners have decided not to wait any longer for the economy and real estate market to show positive changes. Now people are realizing real estate is about what is going on locally, and they should no longer wait to take the plunge.

If you are one of those people who is ready to get that house on the market this fall or winter, here are some good tips to help you along:

Homes will sell in any season - even though it is not the peak time to sell it home, there are buyers out there.  There are people who have to relocate due to job changes, or change in family status.  The date you sell your home is not as important as selling price, and demand in your area.

Moving your kids during a school year is nothing to worry about. Parents fear it will be a disruption to switch a child from one school to another.  However, William Bainbridge, president of the SchoolMatch Institute, said research shows those transferring to a new school in the middle of a term are showered with more attention by both teachers and classmates.

The holidays are just a couple months away.  Afraid your seasonal decor will scare away a perspective buyer?  You don't want to overdo it with a giant tree that overwhelms the living room or with gaudy outdoor lighting displays, but many buyers like tasteful holiday decorations as it gives the home a more warm feeling and look.

Start searching for that upgrade, and get your home on the market, before the spring and summer house over load.

Good morning Jason, I agree that as lond as there are buyers out there, it does not matter what time of year you list your home for sale.

Thank, Melissa.  Sellers have some misconceptions that we need to challenge with the facts.
