The front page of the Community Advertiser says the best pizza in Monmouth is at TJ’s Pizzeria, and I’d have to agree.

TJ’s Pizzeria is a family-friendly, casual restaurant, decorated with a sport’s bar appeal. They specialize in traditional New York style hand-tossed pizza, and the pizza dough is made fresh daily in-house. TJ’s has become so popular in the area that they have to expand space twice since they opened in 2008. Their specialty pizzas have all been named by (or after) family members.

Owner and Namesake, TJ    Co-owner, Kelly

My personal favorite pizza is the Monmouth Garden – which has spinach, broccoli, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, green peppers, garlic, pesto sauce, shredded cheese, feta cheese and oregano. Simply Scrumptious!!! Another big seller is the Big Kahuna – TJ’s version of the “loaded” pizza with bacon, ham, kielbasa, pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, garlic, red sauce, shredded cheese, feta, and oregano…a true “meat lover’s” delight, with a side of veggies thrown in.

TJ’s menu has something for everyone. If you don’t want one of their specialty pizzas, you can create your own from their expansive toppings selection. Not in the mood for pizza? TJ’s also serves calzones, Italians, hot and cold sandwiches and subs, pasta dishes, appetizers and salads. They recently started serving breakfast, and are fast becoming the most popular eating establishment in Monmouth any ti50" Big Screen for those Football Games!me of the day!

They have daily specials and offer a 10% discount on food purchases to senior citizens on Tuesdays. They have beer on tap, bottled beer, wine, and malt beverages and plenty of soda.

TJ’s Pizzeria is open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Breakfast is served from 7:00 AM until 10:30 each day. They are closed on Mondays for the winter.

So if you’re in the neighborhood, stop in at TJ’s Pizzeria and have some great food and great conversation! TJ’s Pizzeria, 965 US RT 202, N. Monmouth, Phone: (207) 933-3400

Lisa, sounds like a great place to have dinner! We have a local "mom and pop" Italian restaurant called "EJs" here in Cypress, TX.  It, too, is a local favorite! :)

It is the absolute BEST pizza!  Just a funny sidenote - When I clicked on the facebook link for their page in your post, it opened up facebook in Lithuanian?!?!  All of the words except for the posts were in Lithuanian. Instead of the "Like"  button, it said "Patinka."

Sonja - It is a great place!

Kristen...ok?...IDK...I just clicked on my link and it came up in English...at least it looks like English...hmmm...Patinka...I mean, "like"....(you know, or course, that you are definitely asking the wrong person about this?)

Anyone else have this problem?

I took a screen shot...not that I thought you wouldn't believe me or anything.  :)  My computer does like to play tricks on me, but this was a new one.  It gives them that kind of international flair!

Finding the local favorites for dining is always the fun of traveling in an area unknown and this one would be a jewel.

Kristen - that is too funny.  We'll have to tell Kelly that they're advertising in Lithuania too!  And I did believe you.

Teral - I agree, it is fun finding local dining "flavor".  Next time you're in Monmouth, Maine you'll have to try it!  :D

Leesa - I think I could eat the Monmouth Garden at least once a week...and I'm not a frequent pizza eater.  But I absolutely love the pesto sauce and the GARLIC!

Lisa,

Nothing like a good New England pizza joint. Wish I had a slice and coke right now.
