Sun City Huntley by Del Webb, ILResort-style active adult communities typically feature expansive clubhouses complete with fitness centers, swimming pools, walking tracks and even full-service restaurants. Residents appreciate the convenience of being just minutes from a quick lunch, an evening out with friends or a romantic dinner for two. Two of the most popular active adult communities in Illinois feature fantastic restaurants serving up culinary delights. Sun City Huntley is home to the popular Walleye Grill Restaurant and Bowes Creek Country Club recently celebrated the grand opening of Porter’s Pub.

The Walleye Grill at Sun City Huntley (pictured left) is a full-service restaurant offering regional American cuisine with stunning golf course views. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner 7 days a week in addition to a breakfast brunch on Saturday and Sunday. There is a nice selection of wines by the glass as well as an extensive beer list.

The newly opened Porter’s Pub is the place to be at Bowes Creek Country Club. The pub was created as an “English” style restaurant and features welcoming warm colors, comfortable seating and a relaxed atmosphere. It’s the ideal destination for a comforting hot meal on a chilly Illinois day.

The menu items found at both The Walleye Grill and Porter’s Pub are actually very similar since the restaurants are run by the same company. These sister restaurants offer a wide variety of menu items. Appetizers offerings include crab cakes, calamari, onion rings, wings and even “Portabella” French fries. For lunch there are great sandwiches, salads, burgers, sliders and tasty flatbread pizzas. Dinner options include favorites such as the “Oh My Cod” fish & chips, pot roast, eggplant parmesan, fried shrimp, grilled salmon and filet mignon, just to name a few! Everyone in your party will surely enjoy a fantastic meal at either of these two wonderful restaurants.

Residents of these luxury IL active adult communities appreciate the fact that they are just minutes from fine dining, right within their own neighborhood! For those times when you’re too tired to cook dinner or for when you’re heading out for lunch with friends, having a restaurant you can walk to is a wonderful option!
