Sales the first two quarters of the year are remarkably slower compared to twelve months ago. However, Osceola County has observed a major growth regionally. As urban sprawl continues the growth eastward down Hwy 192 toward Melbourne. Housing is still afford and prices are adjusting downward. Which is providing more opportunities for area newcomers to buy homes at a reasonable cost.
St. Cloud has experienced a population increase, with developers offering steep discounts on new home construction and liquidating existing home inventory. The town has a population of over 28,000 up from previous years.
The history of St. Cloud is an interesting one. Originally settled as a retirement community for returning Civil War Veterans. The homes were small but adequate. Joined by retiring Veterans from WW1, & WW2 the community was quite and peaceful and conveniently located in the shadow of Disney. It is the home of the Osceola Veteran's Museum located in Kissimmee, and features a miniature replica of the Vietnam Wall Memorial which is a traveling exhibit along with artifacts from the Civil War to present and is manned by Volunteer Retired Military Personnel who are quite knowledgeable.
Families in record numbers are settling into this quiet "City" which celebrates Small Town Living as a motto. There are still active working farms, as well as new subdivisions, and moderately priced homes as well as luxury waterfront housing. Prices range from 75,000 to over a million dollars.

A head start program for advanced students.
