Where would you prefer to live in Bel Air, CA, or Malibu CA? There are so many neighborhoods to choose from in the greater Los Angeles area.  If you are considering moving from any part of the world to Southern California, where would you want to live and why?  It is not about money, it is about a life style. In no particular order, I will give you small tidbits about these fantastic, super desirable locations to help you decide. So if you are relocating or just want another Trophy Home in your collection this should help you to decide?

Bel Air boasted of quite a few famous residents inside the West & East Gates of Bel Air. Frank Sinatra, Ronald Regan and Elizabeth Taylor just come to mind immediately. Bel Air offers large panoramic view homes of Century City and Downtown Los Angeles. Some of Los Angeles' largest Estates are here. Some of the world's power brokers live here amongst the Hollywood A-list. They are in an almost secluded and magical lifestyle in these extraordinary sanctuaries of the Mansions of Bel Air.

Malibu has had its share of recognizable residents such as Johnny Carson, Charles Bronson, Barbara Streisand and Cher to name a few. Here you have the Ocean as your back yard. Not so bad if you prefer sleeping to the sound of the waves over the views of downtown Los Angeles or Century City.

So if you cannot decide between Ocean View homes that have the beach as the back yard. Then come down for a week and I will help you in your decision.

Maui!

Ok, to answer your question...if those are the only two choices...I would chose malibu. I enjoy the surf vibe.

Aloha,

Jeff

The weather just changed here in Washington, so the idea of a warm beach in your backyard is very very tempting!

Endre - Great question. I love Malibu. I already have two homes that I would have to toss a coin to decide which to buy if I win the lottery for
$6 million. If my client doesn't buy it first.

Bel Air personally it is not a close running.

Endre - It's not even a choice!  Malibu, of course!  For me, Bel-Air isn't even in the same league as Malibu.

OK, Looks like Juli, Michael, Ken and Donne all concur, come tho think of it everyone who commented picked Malibu. What I am going to do is do some research which properties are selling faster and for more. I have no problems with these answers, I live by the Beach in Marina Del Rey, so you are preaching to the choir:))

On another note, while others may be surprised which ones are selling for more, I'm sure I won't be but then I was born and raised here in LA county so I have the advantage of knowing what the price ranges are that these different properties are going for.

Bel Air is my answer, Endre...simply because of the landscaping (so much green) and the user-friendly commute. I want to live in the Bel Air Hotel!

Gwen, Thank you for stepping into the conversation. Interestingly enough you are in the minority, nevertheless you have the finer taste. If you look at one of my follow up blogs you will see that the mansions are bigger and more valuable:)). The Bel Air hotel is great, they are in the middle of a major face lift. I used to love their restaurant, the food was out of this world
