Saturday October 23, 2010 will be a busy day at Charlotte NC's Blakeney Shopping Center with the Big South 5k Race taking place at 8am followed by the 4th annual Boo! Bash from 10am-5pm.
The Big South 5k will benefit local Charlotte/Mecklenburg and Union County middle school athletic programs (choose a middle school affiliation when you register). For more info on the race: Big South 5k event
The 5k will start and finish at the Blakeney shopping center and the post-race festivities will include music, food and prizes.
Then the Boo! Bash kicks off at 10am and will include music, face painting, games and pumpkin painting. The children's costume parade starts at 1pm at the Blakeney Village Green. From 2-3pm sample some food from Blakeney restaurants at the Bite of Blakeney.
If you're looking for some Halloween fun a little early in the Ballantyne area, Blakeney will play host to a great day of fall events on Saturday October 23rd. Go for the morning 5k, the Boo! Bash or both!
Charlotte NC's Blakeney shopping center is located in Ballantyne at the intersection of Rea Rd and Ardrey 
Kell Rd and offers local residents and visitors an array of shopping, dining amenities in a pedestrian friendly atmosphere.
