In Clearwater Florida this is our rainy season. This time of year we experience thunderstorms most afternoons. With two young boys at my house there's nothing like a rain puddle to call their name. As I watched the rain drops fall this afternoon I watched how each small rain drop caused a ripple in the puddles.
Later today I was reading a post by Indy Real Estate Agent, Paula Henry, where she shared her successes and wrote how other real estate bloggers had helped her. I was flattered that I made her list. It made me realize how like rain drops the little things we do can have long lasting and even long reaching effects on others.
By the same token a Huntsville Alabama Real Estate Agent, Kimberly Grant inspired me this week with her informative Neighborhood of the Week posts and when I complimented her on these she graciously said I could feel free to incorporate some of her new ideas in my future posts to highlight the best Clearwater neighborhoods.
I can't count the number of times Ashley Drake Gephart, the Voice of ABQ Real Estate has helped me out in too many ways to list here but she knows what they are. The irony is that we've both received referrals from each other out of it - further proof that good deeds make good business sense too.
These are just a few of my peers that have helped me along the way - I'm not sure any of us could even spell Blog six months ago (LOL) - and look how far we've come together.
These are great reminders that life works best when we give and take...
When taking time to reflect today - will you consider taking a little extra time to reach out and help someone else. It could be sharing a skill you have, providing knowledge in an area of expertise or something as simple as commenting on someone else's post.
Never underestimate the power of small acts of kindness and helpfulness. I believe successful people are NEVER an island - either personally or professionally and so I have learned that little things mean a lot in life, as well as real estate.
Thank you to all my Active Rain peers who have helped me in so many ways since I began blogging earlier this year. I'm curious...
- Who has helped you lately?
- or Whom have you helped?
