rain drops and the ripples In Clearwater Florida this is our rainy season. This time of year we experience thunderstorms most afternoons. With two young boys at my house there's nothing like a rain puddle to call their name. As I watched the rain drops fall this afternoon I watched how each small rain drop caused a ripple in the puddles.

Later today I was reading a post by Indy Real Estate Agent, Paula Henry, where she shared her successes and wrote how other real estate bloggers had helped her. I was flattered that I made her list. It made me realize how like rain drops the little things we do can have long lasting and even long reaching effects on others.

By the same token a Huntsville Alabama Real Estate Agent, Kimberly Grant inspired me this week with her informative Neighborhood of the Week posts and when I complimented her on these she graciously said I could feel free to incorporate some of her new ideas in my future posts to highlight the best Clearwater neighborhoods.

I can't count the number of times Ashley Drake Gephart, the Voice of ABQ Real Estate has helped me out in too many ways to list here but she knows what they are. The irony is that we've both received referrals from each other out of it - further proof that good deeds make good business sense too.

These are just a few of my peers that have helped me along the way - I'm not sure any of us could even spell Blog six months ago (LOL) - and look how far we've come together.

war veterans memorial park in st petersburg floridaThese are great reminders that life works best when we give and take...

When taking time to reflect today - will you consider taking a little extra time to reach out and help someone else. It could be sharing a skill you have, providing knowledge in an area of expertise or something as simple as commenting on someone else's post.

Never underestimate the power of small acts of kindness and helpfulness. I believe successful people are NEVER an island - either personally or professionally and so I have learned that little things mean a lot in life, as well as real estate.

Thank you to all my Active Rain peers who have helped me in so many ways since I began blogging earlier this year. I'm curious...

  • Who has helped you lately?
  • or Whom have you helped?

Cyndee - I can't try to name off the bat the number of people here who have helped me in so many ways.  You are one of the many, I could be up for hours making the list.  None the less, I try to help when I can, where I can, how I can.

Cyndee: I always love a good summertime rain shower! More than that, I love the rain drops that fall on each of us from Active Rain. As I was thinking about this, I realized, active is the operative word here in the rain. Each of us doing our part to share, encourage, motivate and pass it on. You have described it beautifully. Thanks for the link love!:)

Cyndee, awesome post!  YOU have inspired me.  :)  I have been thinking about doing a post like this for a very long time...but there are so many people I am afraid that it would take forever or that I would forget someone.  I can't wait to see what everyone has to say about your post.  :)

Stephanie - I have named names in the past - often "Big Bloggers" - who have helped me like Kristal Kraft, Laurie Manny, Colleen Kulikowski, Jeff Turner, Teresa Boardman, David Podgusky and Ines.

Today I realized how much I get (and hopefully give) to my peers and how important it has been to me and I've been told it's helped others.

You are a special friends and I can't thank you enough for making me realized that Green is good - I think I was one of the ones always intimidated by it and you make it so fun and practical so thanks for that. I also notice what an interest you take in others including me - thank you!!

Ashley - I think one of the real gifts of Active Rain is those that are here short cut the learning for those that are new. The Big Bloggers when we got here did it for us and hopefully we're paying it forward too. It's also much more fun to learn with others - it doesn't feel like w-o-r-k or nearly as intimidating.

Cyndee, you have been such a mentor to me and to many others.   I know you had mentors that you learned from, then just did what they did.  If we all do that, this will become and even more powerful place.  Every time we post to the Newbie group, we are becoming mentors too!  Thanks so much for your help.

I missed you on my blog and then you were there this evening. I came here and it seems we were thinking along the same lines!  You helped me in the beginning to gain confidence and boy did I take off. You taught me how to be structured with my localism posts and you made an impact...more than you know. It was nice seeing you again Cyndee.

Sally - isn't it fun to see friends grow and become great bloggers - I had no idea I had even helped - thanks for letting me know. You have definitely taken off and it's hard to keep up with you:=) - I need roller skates :-)

I have loved learning about Hawaii from you and getting to know the one and only WooHoo! I was sick for a week and business has been good - it's cramped my blogging time and I'm still catching up - just know you are always on my "favorites" - it was funny how in sync we were today - what is it they say about great minds (HaHa)

Sally, Thanks for the tip on how to do better commenting - I have just started making an effort to embrace new people again. Time still seems to be the biggest hurdle not "want to" - but like you at this point we've been blessed with lots of points so my goal is to get to know like minded professionals that would be comfortable referring back and forth and Localism article that attract consumers. The natural biproduct has been great friends. :-) Thanks for promising to keep visiting - it's very appreciated.

Cyndee:  Your posts are always so insightful and say so much.  I just joined Active Rain two weeks ago.  I have read as much as I can, and feel I have learned a lot.  I have only posted three times on my blog.  Many other blogs seem so inventive.  Cool pictures, great humor, and lots of information.  I have so much to learn as far as blogging.  I barely know where to start.  Thanks again for your great post.   Karen Anne

Cyndee - this reminds me of the movie PAY IT FORWARD!  If you've never seen it, it's worth purchasing it and watching it over and over.  The movie was about doing good things for 3 other people once someone had been generous enough to help you out.  These are words to live by...just like your post!  Do it unselfishly and reap the rewards as they come back around.  I know I have also met some wonderful people on AR and wouldn't be the same without them...

I flagged this post!  Well written...

Cyndee,

Your posts about Clearwater have helped inspire me to write more about my area.  There are so many helpful people on AR that it is hard to ever pay everything back.  I try to comment on entries by new bloggers when I can and comment on the blogs of those who I have gotten to know.  There is so much content on this site that it is hard to believe it is such a new website.
