Being born and raised in Los Angeles and having the passion for helping people, it only comes natural to me to want to lend a hand for future home owners and sellers who want to move from, or to what I consider the most magical city in the world. This guide covers everything, from moving to and from L.A., finding the most charming neighborhood for you and your family, purchasing your dream home you’ve been dying to move into, and more! You can find all of this information right here!
Moving To or From Los Angeles
The Los Angeles International airport (commonly known as LAX) offers the most accessible means to travel to and from Los Angeles. I would recommend using highly regarded travel websites such as Expedia.com, Travelocity.com, or Orbitz.com, as these will help you find the best range of flights to Los Angeles. Also, try to search for non-stop flight if you can as this will save you hours of travel time. If you’re on a tight budget and can offer some leeway in terms of departure dates or times, you can also make use of discount travel websites such as Cheaptickets.com and Travelation.com to find great deals on flight tickets.
If you’re in the southern California area, you can readily drive to Los Angeles. You check online map services such as Google Maps, Yahoo! Maps or MapQuest to know which route would be the best one to take. You can also try Amtrak for the train service they offer to Los Angeles. You’ll have a lovely and scenic trip for sure!
Neighborhoods
Los Angeles is closest to and has the most beautiful neighborhoods California has to offer.
Silver Lake
The Silver Lake area is located approximately five miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles and just east of Griffith Park. Silver Lake was home to many early motion picture studios. The Mack Sennett Studios, Tom Mix, Disney, Monogram (which is now KCET), were located here and drew creative people to the area.
Echo Park
Echo Park is a district of Los Angeles located northwest of downtown. It is east and southeast of Silver Lake , north of Westlake and Mac Arthur Park and southwest of Elysian Park. Echo Park and its lake have always been a touchstone for the community that grew up around it. Los Feliz
Los Feliz
Los Feliz is bordered by Hollywood Boulevard on the south, Hyperion Avenue on the southeast, Griffith Park on the north, the Los Angeles River on the east, and Western Avenue on the west… Freeway access is handy, as Los Feliz lies between the Hollywood and Golden State Freeways.
From Silver Lake, to Echo Park, to Los Feliz, and more… you name it, L.A. has it all.
Housing
There are many factors you would want to consider when looking for a house to purchase in Los Angeles such as the neighborhood, the cost of living, and the commute. A good place to start would be searching for the neighborhood which suits you and your family. Do you need to be near a great public school?
