CrossPointe Church - Contemporary, Relevant, Friendly, Christian Church in Northwest Austin

My family and I have been attending CrossPointe Church in north Austin since early 2005.  My wife had attended their church-wide garage sale the previous year, and when we began to look for a new church home, we decidedNorth Austin Church - contemporary worship to pay CrossPointe a visit because she remembered how nice the people were.  We felt strongly led by the Lord to leave our previous church, and we were welcomed with open arms into this new family.

They feature a contemporary worship service with some classic hymns thrown in to mix it up a bit.  The kids are happy with their children's programs and we are very close to our "impact group", which is a small group that meets at our house every Sunday evening.  The three other couples in our group have become very close friends as we share our struggles and our triumphs together.

The pastors are down-to-earth and laid-back, yet theologically strong.  Senior Pastor Jerry Rahm brings humor and wit along with Biblical truth to his weekly messages, and he is balanced by Associate Pastor Whitney Anderson, who is a dynamic speaker in his own right.  Both men have become treasured friends of mine, and we have lunch periodically to catch up.  This is something I had never experienced before within a church, although I have been a believer since 1991.  I guess one of my friends summed it up best, "CrossPointe is a little like a small town.  Everyone knows everyone else, and we are like a big family."

Friendly Church - North AustinOur denomination is PCA (Presbyterian Church of America), although I honestly attended for awhile without realizing this.  Our adult ed classes are from 9:30-10:30 Sundays, and the service runs from 10:45 to about noon.  They have a great youth/student program, and (as mentioned above) the kid's classes are top-notch with a dedicated volunteer staff.

You can read more about CrossPointe and get maps/directions here:

The current congregation size is around 300 or thereabouts.  If you have any questions or if you are planning to visit, please don't hesitate to call me at 512-796-7653 or email jason@austintexashomes.com

Jason, So you were led from your existing church? I have a wonderful church that is about 40-45 minutes away. I love it there but have been wondering if I should find something a little closer. Funny to see this post....

Diane - Leaving our previous church was one of the hardest decisions that we have ever made.  We were there for 10 years, and it was the first church I attended as a believer.  We were hosting our small group in our home for the final year, and those people were very close friends (some of them still are).  We prayed about it and anguished over it, but ultimately we were directly led by God to leave.  He showed us a specific scripture that made it very clear that this was what we were supposed to do.  I'm sure you have already been praying about it.  I'm sure that you will find the right place soon.
