West Yellowstone... Here we come

The alarm will beep at 6am tomorrow morning and on with the day my family will go.  My children will be in school for the day, my hubby at work and I have a closing at 8am sharp.   Closings are always a great way to start the day, right?  Even better knowing we’ll be on vacation.

Over and over I’ll recheck myself and my checklist.

-Bags packed, full of all our necessities.  One by one I’ll double check that each item is there.

            -The gas tank is full.

-The camera, the music, the healthy snacks and water.

-The doors are locked in the house and everything is shut off.

-Oh my, have I forgotten anything? So I’ll check once more.

Oh…finally, we’re all set and ready to go.

I’m ready for the fun and excitement in spending the last big weekend of the summer with my family.  The beautiful mountains of West Yellowstone filled with bear, elk, moose, and deer are waiting for our arrival.  And for 310 miles and 4 ½ hours from Salt Lake City, Utah, we’ll catch up with one another, laugh, sing songs and hear the question at least 27 times,  “how much longer til we get there?”

I hope you all have a fabulous holiday weekend.  Keep safe and have a whole lot of FUN!

Thank you Darrel.  We are looking so forward to it.  I wish I could just go to sleep now.  I feel like a child with so much excitement about going on vacation.  That's not such a bad thing, right?

Yellowstone is awesome!  I love the back country in winter.  Everyone should go to experience it at least once.

Julie, I love Yellowstone. I was there a couple years ago with a girlfriend and the first few days were beautiful fall weather and the last few days were snow and winter. I couldn't have planned it better. I still have one of the winter shots as my background photo. Have a fabulous time!

My wife and I visited Yellowstone a couple of years ago and stayed in West Yellowstone.  I can't wait to go back.  We enjoyed seeing the Bison in the roadways and the grass lands, the Coyote's, the Wolves, the black bears, so much more!

Say hello to Old Faithful for me.

Kevin-It was beautiful there.  I would love to take my family in the winter.  I'm sure the beauty is priceless.

Jennifer-That sounds wonderful.  Fall and winter in Yellowstone in the same trip? Now that would be beautiful.

Dan-The animals were quite prominent for sure. I hope you do get to back soon.

Julie - My family and I (and extended family) have been to Yellowstone several times.  One time there was a big moose just outside our cabin.  It was exciting yet scary because the beast was huuge.  LOL  Of course we took lots of pictures.  I can't forget the grandness and beauty of the park, and did you notice how nice the restaurant employees were?  Thanks for the post, it brought back very fond memories and I just might talk everybody into doing it again.  : )

Yolanda, that is incredible to have a big moose outside your cabin like that. But oh yeah, I'm feeling your fear on that.  They are very intimidating.  You should post one of your pictures here. The restaurant employees are really nice there.  The whole experience is unforgettable.  Thanks for sharing your memories.
