Did you know that WARM is a program in St Mary's MD to help the homeless through the winter.  It is a program that allows those fortunate enough to own or rent a house to help out others less fortunate.

WARM stands for Wrapping Arms 'Round Many.  Last year was the first year that faith based groups in St Mary's MD worked together to provide a warm, dry, safe place for some in need in the community.

YES, St Mary's MD does have a homeless community.  They are provided assistance by many including:  SMC Department of Social Services, Leah's House, Three Oaks Center, Walden Sierra, to name a few.

During the winter months beds in the local shelters become scarce.  The WARM project provides up to 20 extra beds during the months of December through March.

WARM is a volunteer organization and welcomes all to come and learn more and to help in a variety of tasks.  You will be trained and supported in everything that needs to be done.

A Host site offers it's building for 7 nights use, from 6PM to 7AM.  During their week the Host provides a sleeping place for up to 20 homeless guests, along with a hot evening meal and breakfast.  Volunteers monitor the site at all times, provide the meals, set up and take down cots, launder linens and share time.
