The Kodak v705 has been out for awhile and much discussed here at Active Rain. It seems to be a good choice for real estate agents. Mind you, I am a total novice when it comes to photography and need something that is simple to use and light to pack and go. I was able to find one online last week for less than $200 but they just raised their price by $30. Wonder if Kodak will continue developing their dual lens series and offer a new model in the future.
I've seen this type of example done before in the group and thought it would be interesting to do a comparison with my old camera. When I get a new toy, it's fun to play around and figure out how things work.

As expected, the Kodak did well with this scene even though it was foggy this morning. I forgot to change to the landscape mode. I'm sure it won't be the last time.
Flash
The Kodak didn't fair well and I really didn't expect it to. Based on everything that I had read about it, there isn't much flash fill. The color didn't look very true either.
Conclusion - Nothing's perfect. The Kodak will be great for MLS photos and virtual tours which is why I bought it. The Sony will be used more for personal use. It was always an ok camera. Now, on the other hand, my son in law has a Canon EOS 30D that takes amazing professional looking photos. He's a godsend at family functions.
The manual that came with the kodak is very basic. Mike Stankewich posted a wonderful set of tutorials and I'm looking forward to learning everything I can. I was so sorry to hear of his passing.

Debbie - I have read a lot on AR about the Kodak V705 as well. Unfortunately, I was unable to locate one in her Calgary to even look at, let alone purchase. I was able to purchase a store model Canon SD800 IS just a little over a week ago. Unfortunately some of the first photos I shot had "spots" in them. The Camera Store was extremely helpful and had no problem replacing the camera with a brand new one not even invoicing me for the difference. I have been experimenting, doing the same as you by comparing photos on my old camera with those on my new camera. Here is an example:
The first photo is from my old camera a Kodak DX 3900 with wide angel however it wasn't giving me enough width. The second is from my new camera and I got much more width and not so much washed out color. I am sure that the more I practice with it, the better it will be.
