In this day and age we have to create so many log-ins and passwords, so it's getting more and more difficult to remember them all. So we always tend to create the same log-ins and passwords to make our lives easier, well I am one of those people. We make it easier for hackers and other identity thieves to intrude in our privacy and be able to steal our lives...and money.
Here are some tips to practice and prevent that:
1. Try not to use dictionary words, foreign words and popular words backwards.
2. Don't use your personal information like your own name, your children's names, pet's, phone number or birthdate. That's easy to guess, plus a lot of this kind of information is readily available online. Worse even, someone who knows you can do it to you.
3. Don't share your password with anyone, even your spouse, relatives, boss or coworkers.
4. Don't write your password on a Post-it and stick it to your monitor or anything near-by.... in fact you shouldn't even be writing down your password anywhere.
5. Don't save your password as an automatic log-in on your computer if someone else can have access to it.
6. Don't keep a record or list of all your passwords in the file on your computer, where it is susceptible to hacking.
7. Don't choose or change your passwords on the public computer or in a public place.
8. Try not to use the same password on multiple accounts.
Good luck and stay safe!!!
