LOOK the colorful sign says (left hand side of highway).  Is that a moose at the entrance of the town?

Not any kind of moose but the Mocha Moose.  Some will recognize him from an earlier post: Moose Monday - Fourth Post of Four: Mocha Moose Espresso - The Moose is Loose in Roberts, Montana

See the mountains in the background behind the hill?  They look like ghost mountains because of the hazy sky.

Lost Village Saloon - Roberts, Montana

And no visit to Roberts would be complete without a stop at the Lost Village Saloon and Eatery!  For drinks, good food and lots of fun, this is the place to "get lost".  I have been to the Lost Village Saloon and Eatery numerous times and I have always been pleased by the food, service, friendly atmosphere.  Jimmy is the owner of the Saloon and a very gracious host.  Feel free to check the website at www.lostvillagesaloon.com for more info and photos of this great establishment and fun events.

Gerry - Ya gotta just love the signage at Carbon County Mini Storage.  It's very creative!  I can see your autumn colors have already began.  It's a little early for us here in the Greater Sacramento area.  But I suspect within a couple weeks, things will rapidly begin to change.

Hi Gerry - What is the colourful balloon(?) in the top left of the first photo?

I didn't remember the guy in the bucket (photo 4) so I went to see if I had commented on that post and found that I had not visited it before.

Great photographs as usual.  It seems that you went to Roberts, MT in the early part of autumn.

Have a very Happy Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend!!!

Myrl,

When that white stuff sets in in my area (I have a feeling it could happen any time now), I will make sure to stop by your blog and admire your photos to extend the pleasure of seeing fall colors.   :-)

Marc,

LOOK signThe colourful (I am talking in Canadian terms) balloon in the top left of the first photo is actually not a balloon but a colouful sign (with the word "LOOK" displayed at a 45 degrees angle) along the highway to draw more attention to the moose sign and to the fact that your are very near the coffee shop to entice you to make a stop.  I zoomed on it and cropped it just for you so that you can have a better LOOK.  :)

I did not realize it till just now but if you read it the other way around (from top to bottom), it spells "KOOL" so it is a pretty cool sign!  :)

The photos of Roberts were all taken on October 7, 2010 (just the day before I posted them online).  It is interesting that I came up with more photos than I initially expected for such a small town.  I guess when you go out with a mission for capturing the fall colors, it is amazing how you are more alert and notice things that you had not seen before despite going through he town many times before.   :)

I am glad you got to see the guy in the bucket from both sides!

Thank you and have a very nice Thanksgiving weekend to you in Toronto and to all my friends in Ontario!   Joyeux fin de semaine de l'Action de Grace to my friends in Quebec and a happy Columbus Day weekend for my friends in the States!   :)

I'm thinking the guy in the bucket is not a guy at all. Rather, it's a moose incognito.

Jim,

Very funny!   I like the term you came up with but I think he is perched too high to be moose incognito.
