Should you replace or not replace your cabinets when you want to sell your home?Since kitchens are a HUGE selling point, you should take a moment to look at your kitchen cabinets and ask yourself the question "to replace or not to replace?"  With the weather turning colder, you will be spending more time inside.  So, it's a great time to take a good look at your kitchen cabinets and make any upgrades necessary.

Replacing kitchen cabinets can cost big bucks.  If the inside of your cabinets and drawers look fine and the hinges are in good working order, you may want to consider refinishing or repainting the cabinets.  If you want to refinish your cabinets, you can do it yourself.  But it is a time-consuming process.  Hiring a professional to refinish your cabinets is still a less expensive option to replacing them.  Painting is a simple way to update the entire look of your kitchen and freshen the look of the cabinets and drawers.

Another way to make your cabinets and drawers look nicer is to add or replace handles and pulls.  If your cabinets have no hardware on them at all, you will be surprised at what a difference simply adding handles and pulls makes in the overall appearance of the kitchen.  If you have older brass pulls and handles, you may want to replace them with a brushed nickel, bronze or other updated finished hardware.  Even replacing old hinges can freshens up the cabinet's look.

You don't have to spend alot of money to make your kitchen look better.  By changing the look of your kitchen cabinets, you can make the entire room look update.  This will translate into more money when it comes time to sell your home.  Simply ask yourself this question when analyzing your kitchen cabinets - to replace or not to replace?  You may be surprised at the answer.
