Traffic will be heavy in Baltimore MD today, with a 1 p.m. Ravens game against the Broncos and the kickoff of BEER WEEK in Baltimore. Crofton residents will want to get an early start, because the usual 30-minute drive is likely to become a bottleneck as you get closer to the city. In fact, I recommend you consider taking the light rail from BWI.
This entire week will be a college kid's version of heaven... over 300 events going on throughout the city to celebrate the 2nd annual Baltimore Beer Week, through October 17, including Beer Breakfasts, Beer Lunches, Beer Tasting, Beer Contests, and more. Let me offer you a small sampling of what to expect today in Baltimore:
A Kegerator Raffle at T Bonz Grille and Pub
Battle of the 1/6 BBLS at Frisco Grille & Cantina
Free Tasting from the Troeggs Independent Brewery at Dawson' s Liquors
Heavy Seas Beer Brunch at Alonso' s
Hoptoberfest at Muggsy' s Mug House

There are many many more events throughout Baltimore to bring back the college kid in you - even a class on October 14 at Howard Community College on Beer History and Appreciatiion. Students will taste at least five beers and plenty of gourmet cheeses as they learn more about their favorite beverage. Advance registration is $55.
You can read the Baltimore Sun article, Baltimore Beer Week Returns or visit the official website for Baltimore Beer Week to learn more details.
Crofton Md residents enjoy the opportunity to experience three wonderful cities, each with their own personality - And they can do so all in one day. This morning, for example, you could attend Sunday Mass at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in D.C., then head east to Annapolis for the annual U.S. Sailboat Show, and end the day at a Baltiomre Pub or Brewery. What a great life!
