A Beginning of the Day at Bridge House

Bridge House
(single photo - no slide)

When I was a young girl, Bridge House was a tiny community along Highway 16, just 25 miles east of Sacramento.  The bridge continues to stand today, but the little building across the road, of past days is gone.  There isn't any historic marker to commemorate the past existence of this place, as it has become absorbed by the existence of the growing community of Rancho Murieta.

The waters below the bridge, are from the Cosumnes River.  The area was a favorite swimming hole for teenagers of my era.

The bridge remains as a silent early morning reminder that Bridge House in fact, did exist.

I take pictures for the purpose of remembering fond times.  I do not impose copyright restrictions on this photo, so you may feel free to use, or distribute as you wish.  However, should you need a Real Estate Professional in the Greater Sacramento area, I hope that you will contact me by email or by visiting my website www.myrljeffcoat.com - Thank You!

OH MYRL!!!!!!!!  This just took my breath away. Sacramento would be lucky to exhibit your incredible photography. Beauty, such as this, brings light to the dark places and challenges...and your work is all about that. Thank You!

Myrl,

This is a gorgeous photo.

It is the same here in Eastern Pennsylvania.  Areas have changed, but the memories will live on.

Hi Myrl, That looks like a great swimming hole, I'll bet there are many who have great teenage memories there - if the bridge could only talk!  Wait, maybe not.

Steve - If you shuffle around this planet long enough, you will have a lot of childhood memories.  It is because you return to build more of them.  Senility is such an ugly thing:-)

JaneAnne - Thank you for the compliment.  However, Sacramento has so many wonderful photographers. There isn't enough space in our streets to build enough walls, to get to where any ranking would have, would allow me to exhibit:-)  But, I'm glad you enjoy my photos!

Brigita - That is one of the joys of spending a lifetime in one area.  You get to experience the changes a place makes.  You know things others don't. . .Unless you share that knowledge.

Myrl, the older I get, the more I appreciate the magnificence and simplicity captured by nature's paintbrush.  Beautiful photo with incredible composition.
