I took this photo yesterday during a walk along the Potomac River near Mount Vernon, the old home of George Washington.  It was close to sunset, and this fellow decided to stand there and pose for me.  At first, I thought he was standing on a rock, but once I got a closer look, it's probably an old funky tree trunk.   I snapped it with my Lumex.

That is the reason I always carry my camera. You never know when nature will provide you with a perfect photo...

You have to be ready to take a great photo, and you were.

Pat, what a great shot!  Sometimes I wonder what animal is thinking when they see us.  This is probably what they are thinking, "What is that animal doing?" ;)

Interesting that you visited Mount Vernon and I read about it after just talking to my son about it last night. We were deciding what to do when I fly up there on the 28th for 4 days. I have not been to Mount Vernon since I was in grade school - that trip was with my parents.
