I am out in Illinois visiting my Hubby who lives here for now....we don't get to see each other often but that only makes the times that we spend together more special!

One of my favorite things to do is go to the local fall craft festivals and art shows....and lucky for me my hubby indulges me...

I have attended these craft fairs for 25 years or so in the various areas I have lived in....but this past 2 weekends I really noticed that there are a whole lot more varied vendors....many who I could tell really are not artists.....but just trying to make some extra money.

Craft shows used to be juried and all items had to be hand made....now when I attend a craft show I see imported items that people have "dressed up" in the shows....they are using more and more buy/sell items passed off as hand crafted....

This is so frustrating to myself....some one who makes and sells items at shows....from scratch....I consider it cheating....

I know people want and need to make money but really....don't compromise the shows....Promotors need to jury their crafters again...and kick out offenders who do not make their items!

I did buy some things...from true artists...not dress up artists!!! I know supporting the true artists will in turn put more money back in our economy!!!

As a shopper we need to say NO to the import artists...and to not support thier products....say yes to the Made in America items!!

Deborah, my wife loves that as well.

One of the "business" things I like to do when I'm in a new town or area is visit a real estate office. I swap cards and talk business.

It only takes a few minutes, and it's very enlightening.
