Sunday Scenes from the Water!

One of the best ways to see the Crystal Coast of North Carolina is from the water.  Whether you are in a fishing boat, a sailboat (my travel of choice), a canoe/kayak or a tour boat, the world looks a little different from the water.

There is something magical about being on the water.  It's calming and offers a feeling of serinity.  Same with being in the mountains with views of a mountain range.

Sonja - We are on the water every chance we get....Love it!

Cindy - Thanks.  Can't wait to see your photos.  I usually end up with hundreds everytime....in hopes that a few will be worth :-)

Lenn - You are so right!  Maybe that is why I prefer sailboats...Quiet & peaceful & magical.  I love the mountains too, and fortunately NC offers both!

Good morning, Amy. Yes, there is something about viewing the land from the water. I am out in my kayak every chance I get...

By sail is my favorite way too!  Though I've been thinking about kayaking lessons this summer...have you ever tried?

Hi Amy,

I always love the view FROM the water.  It captures an area in a completely different way.  Enjoy your Sunday.

Is that the Hahn "S.S. Minnow"? Because if it is, I want to be on it. Nothing like the peacefulness and views when on a sailboat.

You really do gain a unique perspective of a coastal area when viewing it from the water, don't you?

Great pics Amy!!! We do live in a beautiful place, sometimes even the pictures do not do it justice. I hate I did not make it out there today, but did get plenty of sun. Definitely boating next weekend though.

Roger Mucci - I would LOVE to take you on that tour....BTW, My calculations in my comment to Laura (above) were done without the use of a calculator.....

Gita - You're welcome.  Hope you had a great weekend.

Gary - You've got a few years on me...I only became a sailor in 1997.  And, we haven't paticipated in a Regatta.....yet.  Don't you just love it?

Lisa - Thanks, I had a wonderful Sunday...Hope you did too!

Craig - No...That isn't the Hahn "S.S. Minnow"...Our Sails are in one piece!  But, would love to have you aboard the "Emily Blu" sometime....In fact, I think your brother's CD would be awesome Sailing Music....

Michael - We get out every chance we get, and I am always amazed at how different things feel from the water....A unique perspective indeed!

Mark - We are pretty darn lucky to live here, aren't we?  And it was a GORGEOUS Sunday on the NC Coast!  Maybe one weekend we can all get out together, or meet up at  Shack....

Amy,  some people get confused on the island about what is the "front" of the house and what is the back.  Around here the front of the house often faces the water and the back is the driveway side.

Hey, can we take Emily Blu out when the AR group is here?  hmmm
