Catlin Upton was named as spokesperson for the Thomas Guide Companies at an offical press conference today. The President and CEO of the Thomas group of companies stated that "Miss Uption is a role model to all teens and all U.S. Americans. It is with great pleasure that we are announcing her as our spokesperson and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship".
Miss Upton said in the press conference:
"I personally believe that U.S. real estate agents are unable to find like streets and stuff because, um, some people out there in our nation don't have maps and, uh, I believe that our, uh, the Thomas’ Guide like such as, uh, houses and, uh, breakfasts, and I believe that they should...or... uh, our map people over here in the U.S. should help the U.S. uh, help real estate people and stuff and should help them and the other countries, so we will be able to build up our future using the maps and breakfast stuff from the Thomas’ Company. Because, like everyone, even the others like, um, can have an English muffin too cause it is um, like breakfast is important and, um, some countries like such as in South Africa don’t have like, breakfast and stuff. I am sooo happy and stuff to get this money from these people that make maps and make like breakfast muffins. They gave to me and to my friend maps to give and like no muffins or anything but, like it’s lunch time. I like to make those pizza things with their muffins and such as with cheese but…not too much cause I am like on a diet and stuff. Thank you.”

Simon: South Caorlina's Department of Education attempted to sign her but, requested that she donate her services for a "this could be you" series of commericals. The Thomas Guide companies signed her in exchange for an ipod, an iphone and $10.00 in cash.....well, you get what you pay for I suppose.
Chris, We need to add her to the piece we posted about our solution to the mortgage crisis. There is a place for here behind Paris, Britney and Lindsay. We saw this when it first appeared... and it's as priceless as it is vapid. We like your commentary below it too.
Also want to thank you for taking your time to comment on the crest folly we recently did. It was much appreciated.
Sweet Jesus! If I were that child's mother I would duck and cover and hope nobody could see me slinking out of the auditorium. She better be thankful that she's a pretty girl, because if she had to rely on her public speaking ability ...
But like uh blogging is for US Americans a great way to connect and stuff to other US Americans and to US Canadians too I guess and maybe we could all just read maps and like see where we all live.
Joey: Like, OMG.. she was home schooled too!. What a coincidence. It is such a small world,;) Did you happen to view the link to video of her parents. They were SOOOOOO proud of their little pumpkin head.
I wouldn't recommend homeschooling for everyone, but it is wonderful for our family. If I put my kids in public school, they would be bored to tears. Texas is kind of a mecca for homeschoolers, so there are lots of other families doing it here.
Christopher - I couldn't imagine that this was actually the case, so I did a little research, and it turns out that she is another fine product of the public school system, NOT homeschooled (whew!). Here is a link to the official site for the pageant:
"Miss South Carolina Teen USA says she graduated with a 3.5 grade-point average from Lexington High School in June, and was a varsity athlete and student leader."
Jason...of course thats what they WANT you to think. School board elections are coming up soon and THAT information was planted there by others wishing to oust current members. C'mon, you are teaching your children about political agenda are you not? It is from the 101 course material! For goodness sake. "Believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see" Psyc 101..3.5 grade average. As if THAT alone was not enough of a tip off. ;)
Lisa: Like...what do you mean?
John: I dont know. I do not know. Call it a gift. :}
Chris - thanks for that link, but my web filter won't let it open. It's full of spyware. I'll hunt it down on the computers at work and see if it comes up there.
But to think that someone allowed this girl to walk around with a 3.5 average??? Oh my God!!! The Board of Education in South Carolina should be doing an investigation into the course instruction in their schools!
It's funny that you said that - I was thinking of mentioning underwater basket weaving in my last comment. She had to study this - they need to learn how to weave baskets underwater in "the Iraq."
You are like way like so funny Chris! Uh...can I uh like have that uh muffin like now? It's like breakfast uh like time like right now, bro. Can I go pretend I'm edumacated and win all that money?
Sally: Like...OMG, she works hard for her money so youd better treat her right! Like...never mind. That was soooo 80's! It is not like we US Americans need better educashion.....It is the African, Asions and such as that are causing so many uh, problems for the Yourapeeins and US Americans.
Um, like, um, I am like a Realtor, and um, I went on map quest and um, the map say to turn left here, um, but like I don't understand why I can't um turn left here, um, I don't know why map quest said, um turn left on this one way street, um am I like in the right country? Um, they never taught my how to um find my way around in geography class back in um high school...
Oh, my name...it's Beevis and this is my um part time assistant...Butt Head!
TLW.....did you click on the link of her parents.....It is in the comments. If you liked the first one...you will absolutely die after watching her parents!video of her parents
Christopher, Yee Gads, Hope she learned from her display of brain dump! There really are a lot of young people with a brain and able to speak eloquently.
TLW: After I found "her parents" I could not picture viewing one without the other. All I do now is sit and watch it over...and over...and over as if I am attempting to learn a foreign language or find the secret message.
Christopher, I am still laughing. The parents? This cannot be true... Where did you find such good material? I see the young people around me, including my granddaughter, and know what a wonderful group of young adults we have.
This gave me another laugh. You have a wonderful sense of humor.
