So I have been out of it lately.  I had a lot of stress, and life changing events lately.  But I know I have come to ActiveRain and cruised around anyhow.  So why didn't I make comments?

I noticed that before today, the last time I made a comment was Aug. 20th.  You can see your comments on the far left hand side of your home page, down at the bottom under My Comments.  Now part of the fact may be that I have been using Safari, and when I'm not paying attention it doesn't recognize that I put any text in the box. But I honestly think I have just been getting lazy at commenting and acknowledging the many articles and posts I do read.

I subscribe to the "If you can't say sumthin' nice, don't say nuthin' at all" way of life, but why can't we say something nice? Everyone loves to know their voice is being heard, and that they are not wasting their time working out a great post just to find no one cares.   So as long as your comment is genuine, I say GO for it!

So here's the challenge.  10 comments a day for the month of September.  You in Arizona can ignore this challenge, I need to keep gaining points wise  (JUST KIDDING!) You're readership of your own blog will grow, comments on your own blog will grow, friendships will grow, and your points will grow!  And just watch it when you use Safari as your webbrowers :) (I think if I say that enough times someone will fix it.)

Great idea. I am up for the challenge, just like when I challenge my self to hand out 10 business cards a day..

Keep posting...

Lexa, I've been doing at least 10 comments a day for over a month now.  You'll be amazed how comments on your own blogs increase when you consistently comment on others.

I think it is the reciprocity factor along with a curiosity.  When someone comments on my post and makes an interesting fact, or even a compliment, I go check out them and their blog.  Then I usually find something more to comment on and agree with.  Thanks Brian!

I am sure that we all sympathise with you... We all have our ups and downs... Can not be acting like robots. Sometimes is your turn to take it easy some other time is mine...

Arina, I know there are lots of people, like myself, who have actual lives outside of their computers :) Just thought this would be a fun experiment.

Alrighty Scott and Heather :)  Let's get to commenting.

Oh and don't forget to blog too, cause people might want to comment back :)

I always try for ten or more every day.  I have difficulty finding ten I want to comment on with out reading two hundred.

Quick Update:  I'm not doing so hot this week on it!  I have had three different family functions out of town, and haven't been near a computer every day.  Maybe that's when that iPhone will come in handy... Hmm.  I am going to keep plugging along as best I can though :)

Remember that 10 a day, either as posts or business cards, gains you something you can never repeat.  Time.  Each day you have so many hours.  Make the most of each day and it's hours.  Better to sit in front of a computer and post 10 somewhat thought provoking ideas or comments than to sit in misery in front of the vast American wasteland - the television!

sorry if I rambled

Matthew, I think you are right in all aspects. Somedays I am able to hand out 10 cards, some days I am able to post 10 comments.

I actually disconnected cable and sat. 5 months ago.  Best decision we ever made for our family.  We watch videos and have the internet, what else do you really need?

I can become time consuming, but the time spent is worth the exposure received.

Hi Lexa. I haven't missed a day of making 10 comments since I joined over a month ago. It's really helped, being consistent.

Lexa,

The more time I spend on active rain the less spent in front of the tv! A/R keeps me motivated and glad to be here! I haven't always made 10 comments a day but will from now on. This place is like getting together with co-workers at break time. We can laugh, cry, and learn from each other! Thanks for great post!
