West Babylon NY Real Estate Market Activity For Week Ending 10/10/10

West Babylon School District

The West Babylon School District serves most of West Babylon and parts of Babylon and Wyandanch. Main School, when it was built, was the only school for the town serving grades K-10 (older students were sent to Babylon High School). By the mid-1950s, the building had been expanded, and became an elementary school. It was demolished in June 1982. Robert Moses, participated in the cornerstone laying ceremony of Santapogue Elementary School, in the fall of 1951. The school opened in September 1952, relieving the overcrowded situation at Main School. The schools have been awarded the Healthiest School in America award.

West Babylon School District currently has:

• Five elementary schools (Grades K-5)

• One middle school (grades 6-8)

• One high school (Grades 9-12)
