I was getting ready for work the other day and my little dog Frankie was ready to go out so we headed out to the back of my house and the sun was just coming up.

I have never really taken a picture of the sun itself and William Johnson has told me several times to just go for it. I ran back inside and grabbed my camera and snapped off several shots and liked this one the best. Even with the sun up it was still quite dark out as you can see. It was around 6:30 or so in the morning. I haven't tried to play with the picture to lighten it up yet but I might try to with the programs he has recommended to me and see if it looks any better. If I do I will post it with the new results. Enjoy!

Debra, dusk and dawn can give us some of the most interesting shots. You've tried to do this here, maybe try for that shot just before the sun pops up when the colors are at their reddest. Thanks for sharing.

Debra, although it's not the same view...your photo reminded me of when I was much younger in Chicago...being out all night and going down to Lake Michigan to watch the sun come up. Very nice and thanks for jogging the memory.
