Faded Old Glory with a Fishy Cap....and a Great Sunset!

By
Real Estate Agent with Oikos Realty, Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach Florida

This rag tag flag has probably been on this dock in the Banana River Lagoon in Cape Canaveral since the snowbirds left in April. My guess is that there will be a crisp new flag on that stick as soon as the cold weather hits up north and everyone comes back to Florida for the winter.

That sunset is gorgeous John! And I'm sure the grass IS greener, especially when the northern states are blanketed with snow! I remember that ad from the Russel Ray contest!

Hi John - What a beautiful sunset!

It is far too early to be looking at snow.  I am hoping that we don't get any snow until late December.

Hi Wanda - It's time to resurect the old snowbird ads again and prepare for the northern sun seekers :-) It won't be long and the traffic will be crazy with distracted snowbirds.

Hi Marc - The snow is part of it but the cold weather is what sends people to the beach for the winter. I don't mind a little snow but not for too long. I'm spoiled!

Spectacular photos of Old Glory and the Sunset! Is Florida still as popular as ever and are people buying homes more or less than before? Are the snowbirds coming in groves or do you see a shift in who is coming and who is going? Florida is such a beautiful place, your photos do it justice!

Patricia - Florida will always be popular with sun seeking snowbirds. They just watch their pennies more now. Foreclosures were selling well until the moratorium caused uncertainty. I have one set to close that could be a problem. The NASA layoffs will not help either.

Diane - Spoken like a true Patriot!

Karen - Unfortunately, the world sometimes has a different view.

John - I hate to tell you this, but that flag is a little more than faded:-)  Yet, for all its wear and tear, it looks wonderful with that sunset in the background.

Hi John, How's that D-90 working out? These photo are marvelous and that rag tag flag is still that, our Flag. I would guess that many of them looked this way through the various wars.

Hi John, Great shots of Cocoa Beach - it's so gorgeous.  That flag still stands tall and proud.  One day soon it will be laid to rest, as you said, replaced by a crisp new one to take it's place.

Sandy - I'm sure the snowbirds will buy another flag on their first trip to Walmart :-)

Mryl - Yeah, it's a little beat up - just like the country these days!

William - The D 90 is great but I'm having display problems with Adobe Elements 9. It makes it harder to determine how to adjust my photos. I'm working on it. Thanks for asking!
