Teri, With are with Lifelock and they annually order our free reports for us. We just received them and everything looked good to go. By the way my parents just got back to Mesa today.
Hi Marchel, awesome! A little warm, but we're cooling off. Good to hear from you. I need to show up once in awhile here on the Rain. Going in Monday for the other knee replacement. So glad when I get back to normal, whatever that is. ;-)
Good luck, Teri. Doesn't sound like much fun.
Good info on the credit reports. There are so many issues out there. Jsut attended a terrific class on FICO. It's amazing what some folks don't know and understand.

Hi there Jeff...that sounds so interesting. There's so much out there to know isn't there? Yep, another one, but that's all I have left to do. ;-)
Teri, I will keep you in my prayers. My Mother had the double knee replacements. My Dad had partials on both knees.

I should really check out my report. I had some false information.. an allergy doctor claimed I owed money for treatments I never received... he was a bad guy and disappeared a couple of years later. It was impossible to remove this false information from my report and the services would not help. I had to wait for 10 years when it was automatically removed... so unfortunately, it is very difficult to remove false information. There should be a better mechanism to prevent something like this happening. My credit was ruined for 10 year over a $400 fraudulent report!
Then it got even worse.. when I tried to refi my condo the lender insisted i pay the $400, but because the Doctor had disappeared I didn't know where to send the check... is this crazy or what. Finally, the lender said make the check to us and we will find the Dr. and the refi went thru. Three years later the lender returned the $4000 because the 10 years had run. T
Thanks Marchel - it's a tough surgery for sure. I appreciate your prayers...:-)
Hi John, welcome to Active Rain....;-)
Joan, so true. We really need to take advantage of the free report every year. ;-)
Thanks Teri for the links, with so many allegedly free reports that are connected to paid services it is good your shared the real free ones.
Larry, you're welcome. I use the same free one every year....;-)
Teri Thank you for the reminder and the best of luck to you with the knee
This is one of those things most people do not think about untill its time to apply for a loan. Take me for example, I was a private banker, underwriter and now a broker for the last 9 years. I just bought a house and when I applied one of my loans had reported me late 9 times. This only slowed the loan until I could get the mistake removed from my credit. Good advice above.
Thanks for the post

Hello Terri,
I hope you are doing well! Your knee replacement was a while ago now and I am hoping that you are moving around well or at least moving around some. : )
Regarding the credit report-yep I'll need to be ordering mine! Havesnt seen it for a couple of years so its past time. Thanks for the remnder.
Have an awesome day! Thinking of you....hope you are somewhere fun!
Hi Sylvie, actually just had my second knee replacement October 18th, so I'm still on the mend. Good to hear from you. Hope all is well.
Hi Teri - It is always a good idea to review your credit report regularly to ensure that the information is correct.
When a broker, agent, REALTOR is holding a deposit, the deal does not get to the imitation wood long closing table with all the chairs and pens. Holding a deposit that is a hot potato the buyer and seller are duking it out over. Small claims court judge gets it off dead center and you the broker named in a judgment take a 100 point credit point hit. Stays on there 7 years. Two years to get it removed as you explain hey, not me personally Trans Union...it's my job as intermediary. Have that happen a few times and not a barrle of laughs.
Excellent post! Great credit report information's! 79% of all credit report has inaccuracy!
Thanks for sharing,
Adam
