It addition to real esate, yoga is a passion I pursue both practicing and teaching.

Friends (and clients) have opened up new yoga classes at Tulaa's where I teach - YOGA UNDERGROUND or YUG

Classes start as early as 6 a.m and their new web site has all you need to knwo whether you are a "newbie" or seasoned practioner.

"What on earth goes on at YUG?!"  No mystery

CHAKRA SEQUENCE (CS)

Chakras are energy centers along the spine located at major branchings of the human nervous system, beginning at the base of the spinal column and moving upward to the top of the skull.

The Chakra Sequence is a moderately heated class, consisting of a set series of postures designed to awaken and nourish each chakra. We move smoothly from one to the next, using breath and sustained holds to open and clear blocked energy. You will also benefit from increased balance, flexibility, core strength, and of course..yoga butt.

This sequence will always be the same, so you always know what to expect.

Here is a quick overview of the Chakras:

1. Root Chakra--> Located at the base of the spine. Represents support, foundation, grounding, stability, suvival, and basic human potentiality. The audible syllable is "LAM" which we will chant to begin each practice.

2. Sacral Chakra--> Located at the sacral area, genitals, hips, low back. Represents emotions, sexuality, relationships, and basic emotional needs.

3. Solar Plexus Chakra--> Located at the solar plexus. Represents personal power, strength of will, self esteem, individuality. Plays a major role in digestion and adrenal functions.

4. Heart Chakra--> Located on the chest, cardiac plexus. Represents love, complex emotions, relationship, compassion, devotion, and well-being. Related to the immune and endocrine system.

5. Throat Chakra--> Located at the throat. Represents communication, creativity, and self expression. It is parallelled to the thyroid.

6. Third eye Chakra--> Located at the brow. Represents intuition, insight, clarity on an intuitive level, and imagination. Physically, this center is linked to sleep and waking up.

7. Crown Chakra--> Located at the crown of the head. Represents pure awareness, understanding, spiritual connection, thought, intelligence, and unity with the divine. When the energy created reaches this point, it is thought to be the highest level of concsiousness or enlightenment, called samadhi.

VINYASA FLOW (VF)

Vinyasa = Linking body movement with breath.

This class is also moderately heated. It takes you through a series of postures that warm, stretch, and strengthen through deep breathing and focus. The goal is to move through the asanas (postures), while establishing a rhythm with the breath. This practice actively engages the core muscles, and improves your overall strength and stamina. You will then benefit from "post vinyasa euphoria"...

Just hang in there and go with the flow.

This class will never be the same, so you never know what to expect.

SATURDAY SALUTATIONS (SS)

This delightful hour and a half will be spent waking up and saluting the sun. The room is not deliberately heated, but the postures will warm you up in no time.
A traditional sun salutation touches on every major muscle group of the body. Guided by the instructor, students will breath and move through each posture in unison, creating a moving meditation.
Leaves you feeling open and alive.
What better way to begin your weekend?

YUG classes are open to practitioners of all levels.

It's your practice.

Janice, how cool.....I am very impressed!  I never took a yoga class but used to practice some poses at home.  It must be a lot of fun to teach a class!
