Here are some interesting thoughts...   As of today, here are the top 10 point earners here at ActiveRain.

Let us look at the breakdown:

  • Four out of the ten are from Florida, currently there are 5,786 members from Florida.
  • Florida is by far the most competitive of all the states!
  • Together the Top ten have written a total of 4,239 posts!!!
  • The top 10 is equally divided between the men and women --  5 Women/5 Men!
  • Six out of the ten joined in July 2006!
  • Two of the have lost a significant amount of weight since joining ActiveRain -- guess they didn't have time to eat, too busy writing!
  • 3 of the Highest point earners are also in the Top 10 All time Most Subscribed and two are in the top 20!
  • Seven out of the ten are Real Estate Agents, Two are Brokerages and one is a vendor company
  • One is a Moderator for ActiveRain
  • Two have spouses with ActiveRain Accounts as well!

What is the success secret that they have?   Why do they know that you don't?  It is easy to identify -- they consistently write about topics that engage the reader, they are competitive, and they are dedicated.  They also write about topics such as:

  • Each member has held their hand out to help those just starting out...
  • REAL ESTATE, Homes For Sale, Buying Real Estate, Investing in Real Estate...
  • About Listing homes for Sale

We're having fun here, silly! If we didn't enjoy being here, we wouldn't be in the top #10. You have to love what you do and have passion for it, in all the aspects we commit to.

Another interesting point, I've met most of the top ten, and had interesting conversations and exchanged comments with the rest, some more than others. I'm subscribed to all of them, so I won't miss their blogs - without knowing they're the top 10 because most of them weren't when I started reading their posts.

Oops - I wasn't fast enough with my new photo. That one has 60+ pounds of me that isn't there anymore.

You should do another post with the Top 10 Most Subscribed - three of whom are here.

Can I come see Active Rain's "home" when I'm in Seattle later this month?

#11 here!  Happy Holiday Weekend to everyone!

Congratulations to the top 10 !!!

I was in the top 10 yesterday but I spent 6-7 hours deleting some blogs so I lost like 3-4k in points.

It's okay!  I'm only here to network and I am sure I will be back in the top 10 very soon.

*Note: Please don't ask why I spent 7 hours going through 300+ blogs and deleting some, it's a long story and I rather not get into it.   = (

Nima

Go out and have some fun???? Are you kicking us out? This is fun.  Prime example:  I am here in Winnsboro, Louisiana and I am on vacation.  I came from California to do a "working vacation" -- by working I am mostly and mainly on AR.

I don't know..... is that sick or what? Maybe I do need to go out and have some fun because obviously I don't know what fun is!!!!

Laptop on lap, and calling it vacation? Tanny Good morning! It 3:27am!!!!

I gotta give some love...Lenn Harley (who doesn't have her name up there...that's funny) is an angel.  A gruff angel, but an angel nonetheless.

This week, she took a 30 minutes phone call from me (a newbie) and gave me tons of insight and wisdom on this social networking thing.

And by wisdom I mean that she points out the good...and the stupid...things I've done.

Thanks, Lenn!

Great post; not just a well deserved recognition to those top 10 but a great list of topics for us relative newbies to use!  I had already noticed the number of posts from Florida...I'm wondering if it is because of their state's challenging market and losses or just a coincidence?  I would also like to give a "shout-out" to TLW....ROAR  who didn't make the top 10 but must have been darn close!

That's so nice of you to give these Rainers the special recognition they deserve. Not only are they a testament to hard work using this new medium but they are also well known for writing excellent quality posts!

Maureen got me into this addiction. Kristal is my hero for teaching me about writing to the local market. Lenn is my techie teacher. And Colleen keeps us on track with the rules. Thanks.

Thanks for the mention.  I don't have many points for blogging on AR (maybe because there is not that much competition in Ohio... everyone invite Ohioans you know to ActiveRain) then I can write more here.

Over 92,000 of my points are from the 64+/- great bloggers I have invited to ActiveRain who have joined. Maureen Francis, Bonnie Erickson, Leanne Paynter and others  who were already blogging elsewhere contributed to my place in the top 10 list here... A bunch of people who I believe were not yet R.E. blogging including John Novack, Roberta Murphy, Elaine Reese, Don Fabrizio-Garcia, Fred Pickard, Teri Lussier and about 50 or so other members have contributed a lot to my points... and then there's all my great grandbloggers I am so proud of Lenn Harley (of HomeFinders.com ),  Jeff Dowler and Carole Cohen are among those my invitees have invited....

That's a network.

What a treat!!!!

Thanks guys.  I greatly appreciate this post.  ActiveRain is a part of my job, no question about that because I do "blog for business".  That said, I love every minute I spend posting to ActiveRain.  It offers me a national forum for exposure and "Google juice".

But, what ActiveRain gives to me is lots of friends with whom I can have a friendly real estate conversation, every single day.  I learn something every day and hope I have been able to share with my Active Rain friends.

To have this much fun daily, I'd have to leave my phone and get dressed and go out.  Shucks, I've got the world at my fingertips.
