Pullman WA - Tips for Sellers and Homeowners

By
Real Estate Agent with Beasley Realty

Many Homeowners in Pullman Washington this year are first time home buyers.  I know that I have personally had several clients that fit into this category.  With colder temperatures approaching I wanted to put together some tips for both new homeowners as well as some tips for existing homeowners who are marketing their home for sale.  Today's tip is really for both!

Pullman WA Seller and Homeowner tips

Tip of the Day ~ Think Warm!

With the thermometer dipping it is time to pay attention to the Heat in your house!

Now is the time to change that furnace filter!  This is one of the most common overlooked and easiest things you can do.  Do you know how often you should change your filter?  Ideally, you should change it monthly.

It will keep your furnace working more efficiently, and thus, save you money.  So next time you are at the hardware store, pick up several filters.  That way you have them on hand and you will change it more frequently.

You might also want to consider to have your furnace checked and serviced now before the really cold weather sets in. I know it is on my list of things to do!   As they say, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

And for you sellers....PLEASE turn up the heat to a comfortable temperature
... I understand you hate to pay utility bills for a home when you aren't living there. If you don't already have one, you might want to consider a programmable thermostat.   So when you do get that all important showing, you want your potential buyer to linger in your home...not run out of their with icicles on their fingers and their toes!

Hi Lori!  What wonderful tips--we're not that cold here yet but, I do know that when you're looking at distressed properties, even a wee bit of heat will keep you in a home longer than the ones that have no heat at all.  Sellers stand much more of a chance of selling when there's some heat on, for sure!
