Before you leave...

| •q Subscriptions: Notice requires several weeks. |
| •q Friends and Relatives |
BANK | •q Transfer funds; arrange cheque cashing in new city. |
INSURANCE | •q Notify company of new location for coverage's; Life, Health, Fire and Automobile insurance. |
UTILITY COMPANIES | •q Gas, Light, Water, Telephone, Oil |
| •q Get refunds on any deposits made. |
MEDICAL, DENTAL, PRESCRIPTION | •q Ask Doctor and dentist for referrals. •q Transfer needed prescriptions, eyeglasses, •q Obtain birth records, medical records, etc. |
DON'T FORGET TO: | •q Empty freezer |
| •q Defrost freezer and clean refrigerator. Place charcoal to dispel odors. •q Have appliances serviced for moving. •q Clean rugs or clothing before moving (have them wrapped for moving). •q Insurance coverage, packing and unpacking labor, arrival day, various shipping papers, method and time of expected payment. |

ON MOVING DAY: | •q Carry enough cash or traveler's cheques to cover cost of moving services and expenses until you make banking connections in the new city. •q Carry jewelry and documents yourself, or use registered mail. |
AT YOUR NEW ADDRESS: | •q Plan for transporting pets; they are poor traveling companions if unhappy. |
| •q Double check closets drawers and shelves to be sure they are empty. |
| •q Leave all old keys needed by new tenant or owner with RealtorTM or neighbor. |
| •q Check on service of telephone, gas, electricity, oil and water. |
| •q Check pilot light on stove, water heater, incinerator and furnace. |
| •q Have new address recorded on drivers license/apply for provincial driver's license. |
| •q Register children in school. |
| •q Arrange for medical services: Doctor, Dentist, etc. |
