Green Living Guide

Here are a few green living tips I thought you might enjoy!  I think the biggest change my wonderful husband and I have made is to change over to energy-saving light bulbs.  I call them "screwy lightbulbs."

When we bought our new home we put those in every lamp, light fixture and chandelier.  Sometimes finding ones that fit can be a little challenging, for example ceiling fan lights, but we found Lowe's to have an excellent selection.  Here's a website that can calculate your energy savings using those lightbulbs.

Fran, we have replaced several of our light bulbs with the energy saving light bulbs, bet they have been tough to find at times.

I replace light bulbs as they burn out.  I pay to recycle.  :(   And I mulch.  I try not to fertilize or use weed killers unless absolutely necessary.  And then the weed killer is only on the weeds, not the whole yard.  I set the thermostat higher or lower (summer or winter) depending and drive a MINI which saves gas.  But still, I feel like I've accomplished nothing when you hear of sagging bird populations, dwindling frog populations and more and more polluted skies.  And then the always destructive destruction of 15 more rural acres for a new subdivision while land in the city rots away without being recycled.  Oy.

But CHRIS:

You are making a difference in your own way.... if all would follow suit....but  many have to learn by example and you are setting a fine example.  I love the OY !!  I agree with you about the dstructive destruction.... but NEVER believe that you aren't making a difference!!

Fran - I can't believe the person on the business card is the same one on your profile page. I think we all can make a difference being green. Little things add up. Thanks for the reminder!

You look much younger in your AR photo (God, please let that be the more recent one, please, please!) I LOVE your AR  I'd use it on your business card. Just my 2 cents.... either way, you know I'm crazy about you!
