The Screamin' Eagle at Eagle Harbor Swim Park
The 30-foot Screamin' Eagle is the center-piece for the Eagle Harbor Swim Park's $2.5 million Super Pool built in the early 90s. It may not look out of place to Fleming Island and Jacksonville residents today, but back then it was a show stopper.
Nobody here had ever seen a Super Pool outside of a Four-Star Resort or an amusement Water Park and to have a Water Slide Water Feature like this in a community?
Buyers flocked to Eagle Harbor. Buyers are still flocking here. Eagle Harbor - way more than just a roof over your head.
At first I thought Eagle Harbor was a resort! Very cool slide, and you took a great picture of it, Sharon!
Boy does that pool look inviting. I love the photo. Hope you had a great weekend.
Sharon, I'm with Sonja as I was also thinking it was a resort. It is a very cool swim park.
Hi Sharon, the screaming eagle looks lilke a lot of fun. Have a great week.
Sonja, in a way Eagle Harbor is a resort. The motto of the developers is, "Why can't you live in a resort year round?"
Joan, thanks!
Marchel, it is a very cool water park - and we have two more!
Liz, the Screamin' Eagle is a blas! Same to you :)
Paul, kids never tire of running up and going down again - young and old :)
Sharon I find it amazing that a neighborhood would spend that kind of money on a pool! It sure looks fun though.
It looks like a great place to have fun. Why not have it in your own neighborhood!
Sharon,
Looks like they got back their original investment...with interest. This is a great anchor for a community.
Rich
Your area is interesting..even for me! I am researching Middleburg right now.
Barbara, it makes fo a really fun day!
Bill, our neighborhoods are CDDs - the developers issue bonds that the residents pay back over 20-30 years so they can afford to do the amenities.
Diane, we love having it in our neighborhood!
Richard, it was what made people come buy houses here. They built it first which was brilliant.
Gary, then let me set up a Listingbook account for you so you can search the MLS like you normally do.
Sharon,
So just how far away can you hear the screams on that slide? :)
Steve
It’s amazing that so many things that were controversial when they were first done are now accepted. Medicare and Social Security might be the best examples.
LOL, Steve!
Jim, this was certainly groundbreaking for Jacksonville but now every first class community has to have a water slide.
