We all have good friends that send email forwards that seem to increase in frequency during an election year. Most of them are not new, but old "news" and I am using the term "news" loosely here. What ends up happening is that we have seen the same misinformation so often we begin to believe it is true. There are actually cable news channels that may have this theme in their fine print.
Anyway, today I received one which I was asked to research, and during my research I found this chart from the Congressional budget office. Apologies that I could not find one more current than 2005 but it still tells a significant story.
The chart speaks for itself, it needs no comment from me, only to ask you to pay close attention to the Federal Debt Increase Column. We have been hearing an awful lot about the Federal Debt in this election cycle. Sometimes it is good to look at the facts.
