Real Estate E-mail Marketing

By Bruno Roldan - www.gururealestatemarketing.com

On the 31st of August I wrote a post on some of the very best SEO posts on Active Rain called the Rainer's SEO guide.

Having just finished posting, I thought to my self. With so many posts written on SEO and so many good ones, it is clear some of us on AR are being successful in ranking our websites in search engines.

However, how is this traffic being converted?

Effective copy writing is important and there are also many articles written about this on Active Rain -

How about the good old e-mail marketing and staying top off mind? I did a good search on e-mail marketing to do a possible review on the best e-mail marketing posts on Active Rain and found VERY few posts on e-mail marketing compared to SEO.

I then did a search for an e-mail marketing group, guess what? I didn't find any!! For this reason I started the E-mail Marketing Group in hope that we can all post our experiences and learn from this still very powerful advertising medium.

Bruno

Good blog, I think many of the agents have stopped doing emails themselves because of spamming. Many agents here hire a firm called Silkpurse

Bruno,  I don't know about your market but I am inundated by so much email stuff that I delete everything unsolicited first and then read the 5 emails I have left.  I think it's part of the be where everybody isn't and everybody is definitely in peoples email in boxes right now.

I joined your group.  With very little experience under my belt, I doubt that I'll be able to contribute very much (sorry).  I'm hoping to learn lots, though.  Thanks

Seems that the spam filters are getting better. Even if you send out a newsletter... I get tons of newsletters and actually do not have time to read them.

The prolifiration of e-Flyers has the delete buttons going wild. They are more eco friendly than printed flers but still just as effective or should I say in effective. Other linking tools and crawlers are also more sophisticated on the search engines making things we were doing a year ago obsolete.

I would never suggest spamming :) - I think good old spam act compliant e-mail marketing is still very effective. The ability to measure open rates, test tag lines and so on makes it very interesting to me.

I receive various market updates from my Realtor that I 100% agreed to receive and they are quite informative.

I subscribe to various blogs via e-mail and I love checking them out in the mornings.

Of course i get a TON of Junk e-mail but i use GMAIL which sorts all of this for me :)

Spamming is a concern for the legit business person.  We certainly don't want to get nailed by the spamming police.

I don't spam, but I do initiate weekly e-newsletters with self-created articles through www.constantcontact.com.  Try out the 30 day trial... it's a great way to stay in touch without paying postage.

 Best Wishes

Hi Dana,

Indeed Constant Contact and icontact i think are the two best ways to stay in touch with your network and with prospective clients.

I think that in the past it was felt that getting your email out to as many people as possible was the way to go.  Email marketing has as much place now as newsletters and I agree there are many things that I do subscribe to and look forward to reading every day or week.  If I have asked for it I want and will read it - the trick being getting people to ask for it.  Look forward to your blogs on the subject...

I am VERY interested in this topic and would love to hear some reviews of email marketing services/methods.  I use eflyers but I often question the effectiveness of them and wonder if it's a waste of money.  Looking forward to more discussions on this topic.

I don't think that email marketing is dead. It depends on the method and the companies that being used to send out the emails. So many have been blacklisted. I also find that emailing in bulk is effective if and inly if the recipient is being directed to a landing page.

Indeed landing pages are a must!

Bruno,

Definately need a glossary because I don't know what a landing page is. I'm curious too about whether e-mails are effective.

Bruno thanks for sharing I will check out this group and the concept.  I was sending out newsletters but decided it wasn't working for.  My contact list is not that hugh that I get results from it.  I am building it up but it is not there yet.  I will research this and come back to it.  Thanks for sharing.

You might want to move to a more professional solution.  www.QuickEasyContact.com is an easy to use bulk marketing solution that allows you to create professional looking emails and campaigns HTML without knowing any programming.  When you use email services provided by your Internet service provider, you have no ability to protect you clients’ email addressees.  This could crate a liability issue, it is not professional and there is no ability to track the metrics of the campaign.
