Ann,  The crowd should thin out a little for the September Activities.  We took the coastal route home today and traffic was moving a little slow especially thru Ogunquit.

Ann,

Last year the Seafood festival was totally NUTTY. Wall to wall people but a fun people watching event. Tasty seafood too if you can get close enough to buy any. Looks like there are lots of events to enjoy.

Hi Jay - loads of fun stuff happening this way!  I actually had to cut the list because it was way too long to include here!

Hey Dan - bet you didn't have any rain, did you??  I bet the traffic was a bit slow in the beach areas, probably will be really slow tomorrow.  It was great to finally get to meet you both!  My pictures came out pretty dark - how did yours come out?

Maureen - thanks!!  I hope they enjoy it!  I've gone out and done some of the things I write about - so I know at least TWO people take advantage of all this fun stuff here!  ;-))

Thanks for the comments!

Hey Neal - yep, there I go again!  Come on up!!  ;-)

Ann:   Thanks for the post.  If only I could move up there.  The area looks so very beautiful.  Next August there will be another By Referral Only seminar in Reston, VA.  I am going to attend... so maybe after the seminar, I will just keep heading North.  Take care...  Karen Anne

What a great list of September activities for Portsmouth Ann.

Hey Mariana - this is just the tip of the iceberg as far as stuff to do around here. This list could easily have been at least 2-3 times as long! This is just a really neat place to live, and there really is a ton of stuff to do here all year long!  Maybe you should just mosey on over for a visit and check it out for yourself......  ;-)

Hi Jeff - Portsmouth's population is about 21,000 now, and we have a number of smaller towns all right here, too.  We just always have stuff going on that would interest just about anyone.  Being here along the coast just adds more fun stuff to that - even a drive along the ocean is fun no matter the time of year.  Dover is the next town north of here, and it's probably about 25,000 or so I would guess.  The actual cities here in NH are about 45 minutes west of me - Manchester, Concord, Nashua.  Plenty to do here without having to drive there, except to the airport in Manchester!

Thanks for the comments!!

Rita - thanks, and you're right, I don't think anyone could make all those events without running themselves ragged!!  This is just a partial list, too, so they'd really have a hard time trying to get to everything!

Jennifer - thanks so much for the feedback, especially about the tours!  I think those really show so much about this area that those of us who live here really love.  The Seafood Festival is a great highlight to the end of the 'beach season', or at least as the tourists like to think of it.  We still have some great beach weather ahead of us, and hopefully some Indian Summer weather, too.

Paula - it just might be!!!  Come on over and enjoy it with me!  And many thanks for the feedback on the monthly events posts - it keeps me up-to-date with what's going on and we've found things to do we didn't even know about before I started doing these posts.

Many thanks for reading and for the great comments - much appreciated!

Karen Anne - this area really is just as pretty as I make it out to be in my posts and pictures!  I would love to show you around, so if you do make it up here next year, please be sure to let me know......you might just fall in love with this area like so many others have!

Hey Dan - I love Freeport, and haven't been there in a couple of years or so.  Nice little side trip on the way to your cabin!  I'll go check out your post.

Hi Steve - thanks for reading, and we do have plenty to do here in this area!

Thanks so much for the comments!!

Ann, your pictures are great. The weather has been dry but gorgeous for days. I took the kids to Fort Foster this w/end, have you been there? It's like Odiorne State Park but has 3 beaches, much bigger. Beautiful!

Jay - yep, The Shaw Brothers are so NH to me, too!  I've seen them several times, in the park and at our state convention.  I had one of them as a seller a few years back, had their horse farm here listed for sale before they moved to Florida.  Very nice people, that's for sure.

Gary - thanks for the compliments!  I'll send virtual lobsters and you can come here for a visit for the real thing - how's that?  I did see your post - many thanks for including me in it.

Sue - I've never been to Fort Foster so I'll have to check that out.  Thanks.

Many thanks for the comments - much appreciated!

Hi David - thanks for reading! Actually all 4 seasons offer great beauty here! If you're not interested in colder weather, winter might not be the time to come up for a visit. But spring, summer and fall are all great. Fall offers those magnificent colors that people come from all over the world to see. Summer along the coast here brings plenty of fun outdoor things to do and see, and spring is really pretty here as well - all the plants and flowers coming to back to life, beautiful weather.....  Probably for your first visit, I would suggest late spring or early summer, or fall.  How's that for a simple answer?  ;-)

Many thanks for stopping by, David, and for your comments.

Hi Cynthia - well, come on up!! We got in our car a couple of months ago and drove on down to your beautiful state - a very pretty drive, 2 days but lots of great scenery along the way. And we'd do it again. So, get in your car and I'll show you around! We do have a lot to do here, all year round, too. Thanks for reading and for your comments!
