14 Comments on Proof that I can blog about anything - what's under my kitchen sink?
Susan,
Too funny an amway ad just popped up on my screen..... good one! lol
Wouldn't you know it? I waited until the last night, and my computer locked up and I had to reboot, run a diagnostic and fix stuff before I could post what I had written. Note to self: do not procrastinate! I usually don't, but I sure did this time!
Susan,
You give new meaning to the "kitchen sink", as in throw in the kitchen sink. I never thought of under the sink, and incidentally, I commented on a blog today about staging under the kitchen sink. LOL and congrats on a stellar effor. A
Sorry Patrick - I really didn't mean to sound like a commercial - that just happens to be what is under there because that's what I use. It does look pretty though, don't you think? :)
Ron & Alexandra - Sharing about what's under the kitchen sink does have to prove that we can blog about anything, right? lol
LOL, Susan. However, I would find it odd if you left your cabinets open!!!
Good job Susan. Amazing how we wait to the last minute to gain that needed inspiration. This has been an interesting competition.
Cal
OK, under your kitchen sink is just way too neat! Can you come over and fix my mess?!!
Hi Susan, like Patrick, My first thought was to Amway. The vast array of products usually share one trait and that is they break the surface tension of water. Otherwise, most of the other chemicals in them are useless and in some cases harmful. Considering many of the cleaning products are mostly water, I think all of us have it put over on us when we buy these things. Yet, we still do it, :-) Go figure.
William - I have to disagree with you on this one, at least as to these products. They are heavily concentrated and clean better than anything else I have tried. I agree that most cleaners are mostly water, and I don't want to pay those prices for tap water, so that is one reason I love the highly concentrated stuff.
Craig - I don't have the time or energy to search for things, so I do try to keep things within easy reach and know where stuff is - it could be out of laziness! lol
Cal - I don't know how the time got away from me like that.
Juli - I guess you're right.
Susan, I missed the Kitchen Sink challenge...well I read about it, but just couldn't get creative enough with it, besides I'm not sure the world of AR is ready for what's under my kitchen sink!
Susan - I missed the contest but I started reading the entries this morning and they are quite interesting. My under the kitchen sink is a chaotic mess of stuffs. I have to get rid of some of the stuffs there that I don't use.
I also have to disagree with William in his comment.
Now on to that sink cabinet. This contest has shown me that I probably need to do another post on what to keep in sink cabinets because chemicals ain’t it!
Chemicals are corrosive, and even though you think you have the cap put back on tightly, you haven't unless you have vacuum sealed it again. Little chemical atoms escape from all those containers and take up residence in your cabinet. Since they don’t have any cleaning to do, they simply start eating away at the underside of your sink (especially the metal ones that are usually in the kitchen), the metal casing on the disposal, and the metal water and sewer pipes, eventually causing problems.
Move those chemicals to an upper cabinet in the garage. If you just have to have them inside, and I don’t understand why you would, move them to the cabinet above the refrigerator or above the microwave.
In addition to helping all that metal in your sink cabinet live longer, by moving them you won’t have to worry about pets, children, and grandchildren getting to those chemicals and being injured or killed.
Hi Russel - We do have chemicals here, but they are kept locked in the garage. Jon works for an industrial chemical company and although all of their products are environmentally conscious, some of them can also be caustic and I don't want them in the house, so the sample sizes he has are safely stored out there.
