Mina and I had have great progress together. I found her at a bank's parking lot from where it took me 4 days to figure out a way to rescue her. On October 14, 2010, I had her in my house, for her first overnight. Right in the morning we went to the Vet so she could have all her shots and her first consultation.

When back home, she spent her second night in the laundry room, but soon travelled around the living areas where she chose as her best location. Interesting to say that she wasn't huge on hiding, she would actually stay pretty visible, but always never closer than an arm's lenght.

After her thrist night I started to freak out, as she somehow would not use the litter box. I even purchased a special product that calls itself he solution for it. But, after consulting with my cat expert friends, I decided to change the littler and get a new litter box, which gladly worked :)

The new litter box

Every little success in our relationship is a big reason for celebration, which brings back the appreciation for the little things in life. The first poop, the first approach...She keeps trying to approach me, but always very careful and when she is almost close, she turns around...

So we are giving time and space to each other, but I am very anxious to be able to brush her, clean her and make sure she is 100% flee free. It seems to be longer, but we have had only 5 days together, and made huge progress.

What a lovely kiddie cat! Her name is Mina :)Mina Kittie Cat

IF you are also a cat lover, or cat owner, please feel free to leave us some tips and great advices. Mina is my first cat, and first rescued pet. Any ideas to make our adaptation easier is very welcome :)

I rescued two kitties a week ago today.  They were left in an abandoned house.  They found a great home with a Realtor friend of mine, and she says they have adapted nicely.  The first day they used the litter box!

My wife and I have rescued seven cats over the years, and a kitten just recently, after her momma was killed. Females make better house cats as they don't prance around and act like males, marking their territory and all. Cats are not stupid as many people think. You can actually converse with them and they will understand, it's just that they are SO independent, you really have to be on the same wavelength before they actually listen or acknowledge your conversation. They have so many wavelengths and the easiest one to identify with is hunger. Your adventure will go well as long as you are loving and caring, with which they will respond.
