BEFORE AND AFTER... HOSPITAL BUILDING

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Eichler Properties DRE # 183868

These before and after pictures are of the Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital building in Kerrville Texas.  The demolition of this very large structure was started in early 2010 and completed October 16th.  The contract for the demolition was to be completed at the end of October.  The buildings were on the ground but there is still some ground work to complete the removal of the last part of the structure.

These photos were made from a distance just to show a different prospective rather than the close-up pictures that were made by the newspapers and other people.  I do have the close-up pictures but I decided to post these.

I wonder why it took so long to demolish them. Texas Stadium was demolished in mere seconds. Las Vegas also seems to be very good at demolishing large buildings in seconds.

Jim, This building was on the hottest corner in town and joined several historic buildings so no nitro was used.  They also recycled 90% of the materials and this included the haul off time.

How funny that Jim and I came here just a day apart.

Kerrville is where I suffered my first broken bone. In fact, in your second picture, I believe I see the tree that I fell out of to obtain that broken bone! ☺☻☻☺

Russell,  That is funny, just a day apart.  Wow! I should have enlarged the tree picture for you sorry about the broken bone. :)

Don, that's great that they took the extra care and time to recycle 90% of the building!

Maria, I also thought the recycle part was a great step. Have a great day in K.C.
