This is a great weekend post to make everyone think - don't look at the answer at the bottom until you really think about it!

Preschoolers all over the United States

were shown this picture asked the same question

90% of the preschooler's gave this answer.

"The bus is traveling to the left."

When asked, "Why do you think the bus is traveling to the left?"

They answered:

"Because you can't see the door to get on the bus."

How do you feel now ???

4th grader". My 2'nd grader answers more questions correctly than I. Enough said!

I got the answer right. That scares me that I think like a 4 year old!

I never thought I would be so entertained with your answers - you guys are really making me LAUGH!

I'm at a disadvantage on this question because I never rode a bus to school. Even in the bitterly cold Wisconsin winters I walked, through the snow and sleet, uphill both ways! My guess was to the right, based on the reasoning that your eyes move left to right as you read. Looks like I overthought it.

This is HISTERICAL!! You are entertaining me more than the actual question did when I first got it. Mary - I thought it was a trailer too! Why is it that we tend to complicate things!

Ines... I will admit, at first I thought it was a mobile home... lol

As adults we tend to look for the trick or the catch. I thought it was coming straight at me. Ahhhhhhhhh the innocence of youth.

Ines, FAILED. I'll ask my granddaughter, shes five.

Ines, I watched my kids get on a school bus for years, but I never thought of looking for the door. It makes absolute sense, there is only one side door on a school bus, so it has to be going left. Goes to show that kids are more observant than most adults.

Got me too, I guess there is still hope for the younger generation.

Guys - I have news for you - it's not only school buses that have their doors on the right....it's ALL BUSES!!

Wow - I really thought too hard about that one. I thought maybe it was coming right at me, since I couldn't see any difference in the two sides.

I am with Jay, my first thought was it wasn't ...no driver. Decided that was too simple couldn't be right...

Then I guessed to the right...wrong....showed this to my husband....he got it right! Hmmm Husband thinks like a preschooler....Hmmmm

Certainly a different perspective!

I answered left not sure why. It makes sense though.

After I've looked at this graph over and over and seen your responses I've realized the bus could also be traveling to the right if it was going in reverse!! Why not?

LOL you got me!!

I was a senor in high school when my Spanish teacher showed me this question. I awsered it could go either way.Now three years later i show it to all my friends and family and they get stumped to. so i guess stupidity runs in the generation.
