Germantown seems to be on the move.
TecStar Manufacturing Co. in Gemantown will add 186 jobs to increase production of the machines that make frames for solar panels. TecStar is a plastic injection molding manufacturer and a subsidiary of MGS Manufacturing Group in the Germantown industrial park. This is great news for the manufacturing sector in Germantown.
The Govener of Wisconsin, Jim Doyle was in Germantown to announce a $3.75 million low-interest loan under the State Energy Program to support a total project cost of $15 million. This loan will be used to build injection molding machines for producing solar panel frames. The TecStar facility currently employs 170 people.
Recently Germantown has seen some other good things happening in the manufacturing sector. In May 2009 J.W. Cambridge Major Laboratories completed is in August of 2009 a major expansion into large scale Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) manufacturing. This is a new 120,000 square foot, state-of-the-art API manufacturing site next to its headquarters in Germantown Wisconsin USA. The facility is designed with multiple GMP manufacturing suites capable of producing multi-ton quantities of API, and is in response to the company's large and growing pipeline of late developmental and commercial API's.
