Okay, I have not been at this long and am slowly learning from the "experts"  I have taken the advice and written comments as much as possible, joined some groups, posted blogs, added associates, subscribed to blogs...It takes a lot of time but when you do it you start to see results.

What I have found most interesting is that when you read posts that you truly enjoy /find interesting and look at that persons profile, associates, comments, etc. you tend to see the same names over and over.  We are all linked in one way or another.  I can literally spend hours on here and still want to read more and more.

Honestly, how much time on an average do you spend on active rain?

Lacey - Good idea to keep it running in the background...Do you tend to get side-tracked?  I sure do.,

Jim - I have read where you have gotten a few deals from here.  It does take a lot of time, which I think most of us have a little more of, unfortunately.  I do not find it a chore, I really like it.

Dawn, I enjoy this more than doing actual real estate.

Jim - I do enjoy this.  As for me I would rather be out with clients...But, right now there is not much of a choice.  There are so many agents, so many homes, and not enough buyers.

Dawn - I spend a LOT of downtime on AR but have also incorporated it into my workday.  It's an excellent resource for marketing, staging, listing presentations, budgeting, you name it!  So time on here is never poorly spent.  You can definitely get consumed with it, though.  I try to limit my time like I limit my kids on WebKins. :-)  If I realized I've gone over my daily limit, I try to put as much time into something else I neglected on my "to-do" list...life calling my sphere or working on my business plan.

Hello Dawn,
You are right on target.  This is not only a place to spend enjoyable time but a place to learn from the best. A very good post.

Irene - It looks like you have a good plan.  I really do enjoy the social part as much as the business part.  It is just so easy to get "consumed" by it all.  Where does the time go?

Cynthia - Thanks!  I have not only learned from the best, but I enjoy it very much!  I got a great tip from Sharon Simms that I will use today.  Take pictures of buyers homes, not just your own listings, you never know when you may need them.  I've got the camera ready for the home inspection

Hi Dawn ,

I hope you have gotten your car situation sorted out and things are progressing in the right direction to getting yours repaired.

I spend too much time on here...however I find that by the time I post and then do my comments/replies to comments, it is far more time than I should be spending .  Mind you, it is all useful and I learn a lot and the networking and friendships are priceless, so I don't think I'm really able to measure it by time spent.

Good post ....

Jo - Hi!  I agree it is very time consuming and rewarding.  I am still working on getting the car repaired but things are moving along.  I plan on doing a blog about it later today if I have time.  I haven't evenhad a chance to get on for 2 days....ugh!

Dawn

I don't remember ever seeing you name on one of my blog's but, then again there are alot of people who can say the same-thing about me. I generally spend about 4 hours a day reading here and posting. I try to break it down to two hours in the wee hours of the morning one hour during the day (research time) and an hour in the evening.

Gary - That seems like a lot of time...but when you break it down it really helps.  I am sure many people lose track of the actual time they spend.  I could spend much more time if there wern't so many other things to do.  Thanks for the comment!

I try to keep it under 45 minutes, but if I am writing my own posts, it can take a couple of hours because I'll get up and do laundry and cook and clean, and basically do all those mundane things we wives do.
