Carolina Kite Festival

 

Head over to the Crystal Coast Beaches this weekend, October 23 - 24, 2010 for the 23rd Annual Carolina Kite Fest. From 10:00 am - 4:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday, and a very special "Night Fly" at 8:00 pm on Saturday Evening.  The festival takes plkites unlimitedace at the Sheraton Atlantic Beach.  If you don't have a kite...No problem.  Stop by Kites Unlimited in Atlantic Station and pick one up.  Not only are they the sponsors of this Wonderful event, they carry a HUGE assortment of kites in their shop.  You don't need a kite to enjoy yourself tho'...It's tons of fun to just participate as a spectator.

The Carolina Kite Fest is fun for the whole family and is Free to the public.  Bring a chair or a blanket, sit back and enjoy the show.  The view of the sky is awesome throughout the events as colorful kites fill the canvas.  The view of the Atlantic Ocean isn't bad either...

 

The event includes:

  • Kites from All Around the World
  • Kite Building for the Kids
  • A Candy Drop (Tanner's Favorite)
  • Kite Demonstrations
  • Team Flying, and more

Amy, With the beach breezes, it's got to be a wonderful, colorful event!  The complexity of some of today's kites is amazing.  No longer the little plastic bat kites from 7-11 I had as a kid!

Ellen - We love the kite festival...and it totally takes me back too!

Anita - You are right...some of the "Flyers" are very, very serious.  We are very serious about enjoying the show (and the candy drop).
