Dear Seller, it’s time to let me go.   Signed, your house. An open letter from the house to the Seller. My cherished selling Home Owner We have had some good times together.  The parties on the deck,  the new exterior paint you gave me, all of that nice landscaping out front.  When you bought me you loved me so.  You were so proud to call me yours. I in turn provided warmth for your family is those cold winters, cool air in the hot summer heat.  I have never failed you with the plumbing, my roof nor my electrical.  I always let the kids run in the yard, throw a basketball on my brick wall, toys down the commodes.  I was always there for you and I thought we made a good team together. Something has changed.  Lately, I’ve been listening to you and the family talk about how your ready to “move on”.  Your ready for a change and the time is now.  The kids are grown up and have moved away and all of a sudden I’m too big?  Your even complaining about my beautiful, well kept yard, you never thought it was too much work before in the beginning. It would have been nice if you mentioned it to me, but I found out when that red headed Real Estate Agent showed up with a sign in my yard and a funny box on the door.  Since then I think every stranger in town has been to see me.  I’ve been stellar is showing my perks and sound structure.  Every time they stop by I straighten up a little bit and put my best foot forward, for  you.  I’ve listened to them talk about how they will move this wall, paint this, add this, rip out this, change out my front door, how they wish I had a jacuzzi tub and the likes.  Frankly, some of it just hurts my feelings, but I think that you know what your doing. I also know that some of my other house buddies on the street have had a hard time getting that just right buyer.  I’ve heard them talk about open houses, strangers, showings and showings, but no offers.  They too have been sitting around playing the waiting game.  They complain a lot and I promise you that they don’t look as good as me and they don’t make that good first impression either. So, we have been on the market for some time now and then the smart Red Head came back with a contract.  I heard her say that you have received a very clean, very qualified Buyer that wants me!   Yes, they do want a quick closing (something you were happy about). Your sticking by your “principles” and are arguing over a small cost that the Buyer wants.  I’m not sure what “principles” are, but I do know this:  Yipee, we have a great buyer that WANTS me!!!  They have kids that will run through my yard, lots of birthday parties on the deck and maybe fresh paint in the kitchen!   My neighboring house buddies will be so jealous. That smart Redhead keeps reminding you that there is a bigger picture for you, but not without that small cost.   She keeps saying that you could be on your way to living in a smaller house sooner than you expected. That you would have money in the bank and peace of mind.  She know what’s going on, I’ve been listening to her.  She thinks we should sell now.  So, what gives? I’m ready for a new family that WANTS me.  Not a family that finds me no longer fitting their needs and looks at me as a burden.  I want to be put to good use. Seller, I think it’s time that you forget about this “principle” that your trying to teach everyone and let me go.  Let me go now, because there is no guarantee that 3 weeks or 6 weeks we will have this opportunity again.  Hurry up, cause I don’t want to miss my chance to have a fun family loving me again! Your loving house, but soon someone will call me home.

Oh that was cool.  The home speaks.  I am impressed with it's patience.  If I was that home I would have threatened a flooded basement or over flowing toilet if you did not get a buyer by the end of the week LOL

Oh, heavens.

Thanks for the re-post.  I did this last night on my new Ipad and let's just say that it wouldn't let me do spacing or correct anything!    I'm sure it was user error.
