I Just Can't Seem To Leave Real Estate at Home

I just returned from a very pleasant holiday weekend visiting relatives on Chincoteague Island, Virginia. Chincoteague is far from my home territory in Orange County, New York, and the sights and sounds are different in many ways.

I went with the intention of taking a true holiday. I intended to leave all thoughts of business in New York behind, and for the most part I was successful. I strolled, I lounged, and I visited with kindred spirits.

Even so, to my endless amusement with myself, I found myself thinking like a real estate agent in the most ridiculous way. Of all things, I found I couldn't pass a real estate agency without evaluating the relative merits of its location. Was it located in a high traffic area? Did it have good parking? Did the building itself have curb appeal? WHO CARES?

Oh well. I am back in my own backyard, refreshed, and ready to work for the good of my clients. I hope you got some well deserved R&R this weekend as well.

Rosario, it's hard to turn it own and then off.  I'm the exact same way, the wheels are always turning.  Excellent post!

Rosario, I do the same thing no matter where I go!  I even try to make time to drive around the neighborhoods, just to check them out and compare one town to the next.  It's a compulsion...

How funny! I am not the only one. I go through withdrawls when I cant check email every 10 minutes.... and yes I evaluate the location of other offices too!

Rosario, I feel your pain. It is extremely difficult to separate oneself from having thoughts of the business. Even when on vacation.
